Exactly. You're right to be scared because Minneapolis is one of the scariest, most dangerous cities in the US. I honestly don't know how people can live there, or how anyone visiting gets out alive. Really scary stuff
I keep waiting for the posts commenting on how many Iowa fans were killed/wounded (or given the stink eye by a probable homeless person) attending the Big Ten Basketball tournaments in Gaza City North the last couple weeks.

"Fall of Minneapolis" peeps, Is there a body count list somewhere? I get that the "liberal" media is for sures covering up the carnage.

These dumb fvcks throw these terms out having no idea. WTF Karl Marx have to do with anything?

Not enough sense to be contemporary in their stupidity.
Most of these folks couldn't come close to defining what any of these terms they like to throw around really mean. Simple puppets and useful idiots being managed and manipulated on a daily basis through fear and ignorance.

But, but, but don't you watch Fox News. Horrible sweeping crime waves destroying the liberal cities. Death on every street every minute. You've seen it. Videos looping showing violent crimes, oh wait a minute, that's the same video shown repeatedly, daily, hourly. While the make-up, mascara impaired hosts decry VIOLENT CRIME, VIOLENT CRIME, over and over, only as Fox News and fellow sewer networks can.

Of course, the opposite is true as it always it. Violent crime has declined over the past few years. Facts are facts. No searching for falsehoods changes reality.

Yup...marxism in America is confined the FOX News fantasy:

Less police, less charges filed, what used to be a crime isn’t anymore…. Presto chango ‘crime’ is on the decline

I have many close family friends that live in MSP and I am up there about a dozen times a year over the last decade plus. My oldest son has been living in Otsego/Elk River the last couple of years. I have good friends in Brooklyn Park, Isanti, Prior Lake, Hudson, WI, so a nice little cross-section of MSP suburbs from North to East to Southwest.

There is no doubt that downtown Minneapolis has changed for the worse over the last several years. Taking the train with your family/kids to/from Target Field to MOA is a different experience now. People whacked out on drugs laid out on the ground at stops, some of the things that go on while on the train. You definitely need to be aware of your surroundings and it's a lot sketchier than it used to be going back 5-10 years ago.

My friends up there used to go to downtown Minneapolis quite a bit. Now they tend to avoid it, preferring to stay out in the suburbs and Uber/Lyft to the many breweries, bars/restaurants, and other activities that are a plenty out in the suburbs. One person I know has closed their downtown office location and relocated in Eagan because of all the crap going one and the hassle of having a business located downtown.

Has Minneapolis turned into Mogadishu? No, of course not. It has definitely changed for the worse over the last several years and denying that is just burying your head in the sand and denying reality for political reasons. There is enough evidence to support that and there are enough stories out there from law enforcement and citizens expressing their frustration for what is going on.

This is absolutely false! There is automatic weapons fire in the streets of MPLS EVERY SINGLE NIGHT!! People are shot in the metro EVERY SINGLE DAY. At least in Mogadishu, criminals stand a chance of being dealt with and if you defend yourself, it's not you going to jail!

Some people are going to correctly call you out foe making a derogatory statement but I however think we need to appreciate and thank you for recognizing this person's preferred gender while making your borish remark.
Ya.......I just knew you wanted to gently stroke the soft skin of his tatted arms while softly kissing the pig like bristles [hair] on the back of his neck!

Actually, Mogadishu is probably safer because the animals there aren't driving cars up and down the streets at 100 mph:

Another of Minnedishu'a finest felon thugs who was protected by the blue city until the FEDs stepped in and cleaned up:

How much of that is your friends aging and just not wanting to go downtown anymore? I’ve had older co-workers say the same about downtown Des Moines (e.g., “why would anyone want to live there”) where they basically take their own preferences and act like everyone should have the same.

I’m not saying it hasn’t gotten worse but if your friends never go there, not sure how reliable they are to discuss the current state of things. However, I don’t live there anymore so maybe things are worse. From people I know that do live downtown, it sounds like the North Loop is quite lively. Perhaps the southern part of downtown is crappier. We were there for the women’s tournament and it seemed fine but wasn’t hopping around Nicolett, other than Iowa fans. FWIW, I used to take the light rail from downtown to the airport and saw robberies, homeless, etc. back 10-15 years ago.

Perhaps they just don't want to run into these guys and co. >

I am driving to Minneapolis to see the Dodgers play the Twins tomorrow. Going by myself as I couldn’t get anybody to go with me.
One day trip.

Be careful driving through small towns.

This is what happens when you run a train [aka The Gang Banger Express] straight from Minnedishu to MOA!
