The Luster on the Economy is going to Come Off in 2025

Wishful thinking, at best. But we’ll see.

The only positive I see with Trump is he will clean up Biden’s **** up on the border. The border needs to be secured first and foremost.

You’re right that we need to focus on deporting criminals and illegals here causing problems. I have no faith that will actually be prioritized, though. My guess is ICE is going to raid factories, meat-packing plants, etc. because it’s the easiest way to find people here illegally. Trump, and his ego, is all about numbers, and that’s exactly what he’s going to tout—the number of illegals getting rounded up. He couldn’t care less if they are criminals so long as he can boast about how many are being deported.

But I’m glad you’re optimistic. I’m not, but for the sake of the country, I would rather the Trump administration be successful and bring prosperity and stability to America than to be proven right.

In short, I am rooting for Trump to win so much that by year two I am all worn out from so much winning. 😊
The Trump admin has already said they are going to first prioritize deporting criminals.

Large corporations, Fed Rev and Gov hate those things. If he does those things, guess we'll be able to compare the numbers in 4 years.

The tariffs and mass deportation plans are going to severely cripple the economy and cause inflation to skyrocket.

This is not even debatable. It’s economics 101 and common sense.
I’ll bet we don’t see much of either. Quite a bit of hyperbole floating around out there by both sides. I doubt we really see massive tariffs. I also do not think Trump will actually be capable of executing mass deportations. I think it will be slow and steady over a 4 year period. It’s not possible to deport as quickly as they came in. I believe the effort over the first year or two will be to target the criminals, not the workers. I’m more optimistic than most here.

Like ICE used to do under past administrations? That’s exactly what they used to do. But the left wants to heavily fine the companies hiring them. Which is it? The left wants the immigrants here and claim they are all working on farms and on factories. Well those businesses won’t hire them if they are getting fined. So do we think these people will then just turn around and go home when their jobs dry up? Or stay where they are provided a place to stay, healthcare, etc?

Massive deportations the likes of which we have never seen before.

I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make.

I don’t believe the solution is to fine companies for hiring illegals when these companies struggle to find workers to do those types of jobs. IMO the answer is to extend work visas and allow those people to have a faster pathway to citizenship.

Yes, I agree Trump talks out of ass a lot, but I have no reason to believe he isn’t serious about the tariffs.

I dont remember which thread I said it in, but if the immigrant can show documentation of employment and is productive in our society, I believe 100 percent they should be allowed to stay and we should provide them a pathway to citizenship. I think we will see a compromise somewhere along these lines.

Trump has no long term plan on anything. It’s make it up as you go. Whatever sounds good at the moment. Miserable way to govern.
Currently has a weird collection of tech bros, trolls , and racists with varying interests in his base. But he loves chaos so he should enjoy the ride.

I agree with you 100%.

My faith in the Trump administration’s willingness to compromise is 0%.

I hope you’re right and I am wrong.

That isn’t going to happen with the Stephen Miller types. He made sure to sink the immigration bill back in 2017/18. No amnesty period.

That’s exactly why I disagree with Shawn.

They ain’t compromising. This is all about getting rid of as many brown people as possible.
It was sunk because of the Dreamers correct? With the margins so thin in both houses. Compromise isn’t a choice.

Wasn’t Homan part of Trump’s first term administration? I don’t recall that he did a poor job?
Yep.
But he's a contributor to Project 2025 and spent a good part of the Biden administration yapping on Fox Opinion Network about being tough on immigration.
Expect him to be inhumane regarding family deportation.

We know. Partisan politics at its finest. You are no better than the radical right clowns you’ve been calling out the last 4 years. Congrats.
Wrong.
The reason it needs to burn is Radical Right voters never learn.
Bush1, Bush2, and Trump1 ended as disasters and yet people still vote for Republicans.

Just hard to comprehend.
That is NOT being partisan.

Why is everything 22.5% more expensive on average vs when Biden took the white house?
Well, if this number is close to accurate, remember where the economy was when Biden took office. The WORLD’S economy was in the tank! Empty shelves at hardware and grocery stores, car dealerships with NO cars on the lots to sell and a witkd wide shortage of wood and construction supplies…with waiting periods of any where up to a Year for products…. And no guarantees to prices for these products! Pull your head outta your ass scruffy and remember things for what they really were. There was a reason why Biden won his election in a LANDSLIDE over Trump! Trump had totally ohuqued up the US economy his last 2 years of office…and America called him on it.
Biden got elected, and made the needed corrections to supply chains and stabilized the American economy. Folks went back to work, prices returned to “normal” as demand for products increased. Happy days returned to America!

If so, that may act as a deterrent against future illegal immigrants. 🤔

You said you hope it all burns. There is no mistaking your stance. You are the radical left. Same as the radical right. Congrats.

According to most MAGAs, all immigrants who have entered are illegal. Ignoring the fact that those here claiming “ political asylum” are automatically here legally, per legal interpretation.
Congress needs to update and pass new immigration guidelines…there are about 34-40 MAGA House members that have prevented this from happening the past several years.

There was almost no inflation when Biden took office and there was a trillion dollars of potential covid money kept as cash in the treasury in case it was needed. Biden spent it (of course) then blew up the budget. Wasteful government spending is to blame for the inflation crisis that biden and his team lied about and called 'transitory'.

No there wasn’t…. Because the world was falling into a depression after the Covid pandemic, dummy! We were in a recession worldwide at the time… Biden’s action during his first 100 days of office ended that threat.
