How about the McCaffrey's bringing the heat tonight?
- Connor: 1-6 (0-5 3's; all wide open as I recall) from 3 point land, flopping around all over the place, 3 TO's, whining and complaining as always.
- PMAc: matador defense, 0 points, wasted / worthless minutes, pissing down his leg once again
- Fran not having his team ready and pissing and moaning about the calls again - as usual.

This entire team was so mentally weak tonight, pathetic... Kris, well he's no Keegan.

This is the worst loss against one of the worst WI teams I've seen. Terrible

I've been a Fran supporter but it's getting tougher to do so. He can't put the ball in the bucket for the team but he can get the ball down to Filip much more than he did and play his son's a heck of lot less - especially Patrick; he's worthless out there.
Even with shot not following. Bring sandfort in earlier. One threat for 3. Both he and murray 2 best shooters opens inside more. But Fran always goes 8 min before subbing. Both halves first 8 then next 8 night and day difference.

Agreed, doesn't matter what the flow of the game is, who's hot or not, just mindless, standard sub patterns.

Fran is screwing this once promising season up - big time...

One thing I’ll give Connor. He least contributes when not scoring. Unfortunately shooting like he was for most of last season right now. Texting friend during game he brought up a great point. What does pmac bring to this team? What are his strengths? If he’s not scoring he’s a liability. Doesn’t rebound well (sandfort give credit battles down low), not strong finishing inside because he’s too soft in the paint. way too inconsistent shooter and same goes for his D such as tonight with 5 min totally lost on pick and roll d gave up easy dunk. Right now just see him loafing around the arc and zero confidence on driving to the basket or taking jump shots.

Relax. Things will be better next year.

I can’t blame Fran at all on this one. It’s not his fault that these 22 and 23 year olds can’t get themselves ready to beat a team like Wisconsin in front of a weak crowd. This team is loaded with a bunch of softies.

And who is responsible for recruiting and developing these softies? Brilliant take there. Fran is one of the most mentally weak coaches in ncaa as he often demonstrates on the sideline. Why would anyone expect anything different from his players?

Good analysis but his shooting is way off which kills comebacks and leads

Usually Connor does, but he brought nothing today - TO's, flopping around, pissing and moaning, his usual zero offensive game.

Patrick sucks, he needs to go. Fran too as far as I'm concerned.

Bingo. Fran is a horrid in game manager of players. Possibly one of the worst in the country.

And he keeps that worthless PMac in who contributes nothing? Patrick is the definition of a softy.

Sandfort and Dix bring so much more to the table.

It's not Josh O, Riley M (evidently), and for sure not PMac - he sucks; a total waste of uniform out there. He shouldn't play the rest of his career. Dix needs his minutes. If Dix would get his minutes and leash, he'd be much, much better of an asset.

Let Bowen get some minutes? He's already on the JoeT plan.... and we got smallish guard coming in next year that seems to be Fran's type...small, likely can't defend, but good shooter...smaller more athletic JBO.

I actually like josh Dix...he plays defense and has length/athleticism and good handles. Not sure he's lockdown shooter but his 3pt stats so far are fantastic.

I don't think 3/25 from 3pt line is going to win any games. Even if you cut down the attempts this team isn't built to just pound it into Rebraca and let him go off for 40 pts. Rebraca is not Garza. Kris was not Kris or Keegan today.

JoshO went to Portal and nobody wanted him last year. I don't think he can run the court. Maybe a Medical hardship schollie and he retires.

When your leading minutes guy is Connor at 36 you're kind of screwed. That is ridiculous. I do appreciate his 8 boards but the McCaffery boys combined for 54 minutes. 2 points, 8 boards, 2 assists. 3 turnovers and a whole lot of shit defense.

Again, 54 minutes. The nepotism in Iowa sports is just overwhelming right now and has been for 6 years

I totally agree with this. The McCaffrey's killed us tonight - especially Patrick. God I cringe every time he comes into the game.

Why not try him, because jacking up three's and complaining all the time was not working, a good coach will try differnt players to try and spark the team. And not happy at all just frustrated
Because he's been the worst performer on the court this year. It makes no sense to put him out there in any contested game. If anything put Dix out there for extended minutes. He looked great until he got sidelined when Patrick came back.

Im not talking about starting him but try him for 5 minutes maybe he gives a spark to the team on the road because others are flat out sucking and it can't get any worse.
That's what everyone said about Brian's offense before football season started. That lesson was that as bad as things seem at times, things can ALWAYS get worse.

Every time I begrudgingly accept the free company tickets to the Hawkeye game here in Madison, I convince myself "It can't be worse than last time". Wrong. We got ZERO fast break points. When we play a team like Wisconsin (that isn't very good this year) that plays tough defense, there is some point in the game that we just mentally fold and then can't catch up because we run a very poor half court offense, and of course our defense is legendarily pathetic. Frans record in close games by whatever metric you use is embarrassing. He is a very below average bench coach that can't win during an off shooting night.

At one time tonight, Connor was actually arguing with Kris about something while on the court. This team is mentally weak when challenged and it is direct insight into how they are coached.
