It's not #1 vs #2. We have won the conference before. But... This would put us in the final 4 playoff. I was not buying the Nebraska game being the biggest. This one however has potential.

IMO, the next three games will each become the biggest game in school history.

Gazette guys were split, one said the 1986 Rose Bowl since we were #3 and could have moved into the #1 spot with a great game. The other one, I'm not sure of his answer, but he liked the '81 season for the dawn of the modern Hawkeye era.

If Iowa loses this game they'll be know as overachievers who had a "nice" season. If they win, it'll do wonders for national recognition and recruiting. Iowa has played in some huge games but I don't know of any with so much on the line. It's winner take all.

One other thing I'll add. It appears the Iowa fans are zeroed in on this game. On the other hand MSU fans and media seem to be looking a little further ahead. I don't know if this'll carry over to the teams but I hope it does.

I'm in my 60's. I cannot recall a game I think is more important. And I concur, with each victory, the next game becomes the most important in Iowa Football history.

JUST GLAD I LIVED LONG ENOUGH TO SEE THIS!!!!!!!! LET'S GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!

In my opinion it is, yes. For lots of reasons really.

-No pre-season expectations had Iowa anywhere near the status they are now.

-Winning the B1G title outright.

-Going into the playoffs and playing for a National Title.

-The coverage this gets Iowa, and the benefits that come with it.

-It makes Iowa an undeniable and serious power player in the B1G once again.

-13-0, that's crazy.

Potential is there to be in this game many more times in the future. Potential to be there with zero losses is very different.

Unlike in previous weeks when people said the Purdue game was the biggest game or the Nebraska game was the biggest game, this game on Saturday actually is one of the biggest games in Iowa history.

Top 5 matchup
Playing for an outright B1G Championship
Playing for a spot in the CFP

There are few games in Iowa history that match this one in terms of magnitude and importance.
