*** The Official SOTU Address Thread ***

I didn't watch, but the post speech analysis mentioned a point where when Trump was talking about how he would sign a bill to reduce prescription drug costs a bunch of Dems started shouting, "HR3", which is a bill that passed the House, and is supported by Chuck Grassley. Grassley won't say dick about it in public, though, because Mitch won't let it move forward. Mitch is fearful of losing money from Big Pharma in a year that his majority is on the line.
Perhaps Big Pharma would prefer a Dem Senate or POTUS....

I officially want nothing to do with either side.

That speech was very political and didn't do a lot to help Rush. It alienated many and didn't reach all Americans. Thats what the State of the Union should have been. I am not planning on voting for Trump.

The Democrats, especially Pelosi, fulfilled every negative stereotype that they have. They are a bunch of babies. As an independent who was genuinely curious about hearing the candidates and results of the Caucuses last night, I am probably out there too.

I love our country but we are freaking broken. I know I am not saying anything anyone doesn't know. 3rd party again.

That would explain the 3 fingers they were holding up

McCaskell said this too. McConnell gets too much dark money from Big Pharma that he needs to win reelection. Glad the Republicans on here are cool with that BS.

Yeah, lean conservative. I'm not lock step R or con on every single topic like you are Dem/left.
And it's funny you fixate on that part of my post instead of the part I criticized the speech for involving rush.
Pull in your claws, kitty.

House chamber chairs are upholstered with swastikas for some reason.

Who the f*ck was the fat guy getting his tie signed with wads of money stuffed in his front jacket pocket?

What is the percentage of true statements he made tonight? Serious question. I heard lots of “all time low” or “all time high”, “most ever”, “best ever”, etc, etc, etc ...

over under 33.5%? I think the unemployment statement could be correct ... what else?

This. What a shit show. Both sides continue to be a pathetic disgrace. Third party here I come.

There lies the problem. Trump’s base is not enough to get him re-elected and what group has he added since he has become president?

I am positive that many independents are absolutely disgusted by the theatrics and dirty tricks that the dems have tried to pull (and failed).

All I’m saying is this time around it’s going to take more to get him re-elected than you guys who get hard every time Trump tells a lie.

It's incredibly difficult to unseat a sitting president. H.W. Bush and Jimmy Carter are the only recent examples.

They had exceedingly charismatic challengers.

I don't see any charisma in 2020.

My question is how is going to win with just his base. He has lost the female vote, and most of the independents. Where will the numbers come from? Who has he added and who has he lost since taking office?

I know a lot of females who are Trump supporters.
