The recruits in the house today

It's been going on for years with the men's games because they don't sell out and the fans are a different bunch that sit on their hands. I had season tickets since 1983 until a few years ago because of my age and the loudest couple of games I attended were a couple men's NIT games and the sound was deafening. The women may have had only 4 or 5 thousand back a few years ago and it put the men's fans to shame. I have attended a few wrestling matches and there didn't seem to be anything wrong with CHA then either.

I'll respond to you and hawkfan. It (women's games) sure sounds loud on TV. I know acoustics are everything and that's something Hilton has going for it.

I hate to say it but my interest in (all) men's basketball has been lagging for 3 years and it's rapidly declining.

I've become a women's basketball fan. The WNBA lengthens the season, and we have CC to watch.

Heck, if I’m JuJu I walk away from yesterday wishing I played in a home environment like Carver and on a team that is so beloved by its fans. I realize there’s like a 0.1% chance she will ever portal to Iowa, but I doubt she’ll get her flowers at USC or anywhere else for that matter more than she would here.
She's just a sophomore. Trust me, she's just getting going!

I've never been in Carver (been to Kinnick a couple of times) but Carver has a decent rating as a venue, among the top 3 or 4 in the Big Ten if I recall.

I'm surprised to read this negative stuff having no 1st hand knowledge. On TV interviews I commonly hear it one of the toughest to play in as a visiting venue.
Those who negative things don't know what they are talking about, Carver was built for sports it's not one of those venues that was built for multipurpose events such as Monster Trucks, Concerts, Boat and Travel Shows, etc. Those multipurpose venues have balconies, steep as hell you have to be a mountain goat to navigate the stairs. Carver is fan friendly as many others are not.

The uninterested Finley Chastain is following more current Iowa women’s players on instagram than any of the other uncommitted recruits there yesterday.

Kyle posted an interview he did with her on on another site, It would be inappropriate for me to post the content but I will say she thinks very highly of Iowa.

I was referring more to the fan support here. Doesn’t sound like USC is having sellouts. With as many high level recruits on their team as they have, there’s no way Iowa fans wouldn’t be showing up big time for a team with that much talent.

Try looking at all the rest of the people in that photo. None of them looked interested why? Because nothing was going on at the time. Jesus, some of you are just unbelievable.
Right in from of Finley Chastain is Addison Bjorn. She's so bored that she's looking for some fruity lip balm to spice up her day. ;)

They saw quite a performance. If they think they can do better somewhere else, good luck to them. But Iowa couldn't have given them a greater show.

Well let’s keep in mind Ava didn’t play, Jan can’t break the press, she cant coach her players to not throw it away. We lack toughness, our Srs only play because Jan thinks she owes it to them and her rotations blow…..

Now if these young women and their parents are smarter than the men who post in the game threads, handle stress better and are better at discerning reality, then yes, it was likely helpful!

Carver is an amazing place when it is packed. The energy positively ricochets around the building because everyone is in eachother’s sightlines. The problem is that it is rarely packed, not only due to the performance of its teams but because of its location, layout and ticketing policies. All three prioritize old school fans who are not loud and are not energetic. Additionally, what is a strength when it is packed, is a weakness when it is half full: because you can see every seat the place feels empty, dead, quiet and devoid of energy.

Carver is the definition of a double edged sword.

USC had more turnovers with higher rated players, so they shouldn’t consider USC either.

A momentary glance at her and you're trying to make conclusions from that?!
Quote from her on another site: "I had chills the entire time."
Please restrict your entries until you've at least thought about them.
My entry was long before the post of what she said.
nothing to go on at the time except a blank look from the pic.
I can believe her on what she said but that was not posted until a day later
