It's been a fun but frustrating year as a fan. The stars seemed to be more aligned for us than any other year I can remember:
-schedule
-conference blue bloods being down
-a great team defense
-national award winners and pros on both sides of the ball
-talent and youth at skill positions
-a knack for turnovers and winning 50/50 plays
-still making the b1g championship and potentially making the playoff with 2 terrible losses
And yet, we were held back by not having a playmaker or even a competent game manager at one position, the most important on the team. As much as we gripe about conservative coaching and playcalling, I believe that most of our limitations were due to personnel at QB.
Do we make the playoff with an average qb? What happens if we hold off on accepting Spencer's commitment til after Zach Wilson visits?
Petras seems like a nice guy and a good teammate. Hope he finds success wherever he finishes his career.
I hope we get another glimpse at the mountaintop, but I can't expect the path to be any friendlier.
