The Stats are Ugly

That beatdown was so much worse than the score indicated. Nationally, people are going to say "I can't believe Iowa got upset on a last second FG to NDSU." For everyone who watched the game they'll say, "I can't believe Iowa had the lead up until the last play of the game."

What makes it even better is that NDSU gave up like 40+points last week. This was an awful game plan with terrible execution. Iowa's in game adjustments are non existent. Don't worry though, Iowa stayed in it's base offense and defense to keep it vanilla for NDSU
I knew that if we were gonna lose, it would end up being a game like this. What NDSU did last week was gonna have no bearing on this week because they were gonna get up for the chance to beat Iowa.

The final score is exactly what they needed it to be to have a chance because there was no way they would be able to hang with us if we could've put up 30+ pts.

Eastern Washington is also a spread passing team with good receivers so they presented some challenges for NDSU. Iowa was hoping to exploit some of those holes as well, but got fewer opportunities because of fewer possessions and we try to be a balanced running team as well....

But today we also suffered from some drops and poor protection.

One of my posts before this game stated that Iowa's offense is no where close to as good as EWU's. Of course nobody believed me. Called me this and that. I stand by my statement and the game proved it. EWU's offense is better than Iowa's and it showed when we played them. The plays that EWU were consistently putting together were amazing. That's not saying that Iowa's offense is not good, they are.

Iowa had a pretty bad time of possession against Miami of Ohio too. Partially due to quick scoring, but they aren't going to wear out many defenses.

Funny thing is....we'll hear all about how Iowa has bounced back from defeats like this before to have successful seasons. That'll be the theme this week from KF.

Our $4m manhas to be the only coach in America who actually WANTS his fanbase to vividly remember his veritable litter of past September Turds as some sort of perverse justification for why we should not overreact to THIS YEAR's all-too-predictable pinched loaf left steaming in the middle of the field at Kinnick Stadium.

Iowa's National Rank

  • Passing Yards
    158th
    208.7PYPG
  • Rushing Yards
    164th
    148.0RYPG
  • Total Yards Per Game
    173rd
    356.7YPG

As usual, in the KF era, the offense is the problem. Just like 2014, the wrong guy is at RB and you have to wonder why any kid could get excited to be part of the Iowa offense? For those wishing to point me to the first two games, we beat two horrible teams (and probably started buying the hype a bit too much)

Hawks will be like most years I think. Win a couple we don't deserve and drop a couple we should've won.

A shot at a January bowl and the fans will love with it. As if we have a choice given KF contract.

Why hasn't someone picked up their coach!!! He had a great game plan and the players play hard for him! He doesn't even make a tenth of what capt under whelming makes, and piss pounded him with a bunch of no stars! It's almost funny!

Ol' Doodle knows quoting oneself is something of an etiquette breach, but just to prove the point, here is a quote from KF immediately after the game. He definitely didn't waste any time in dredging up his litany of egregious early-season failures as a way to preempt criticism of this year's tragically bad September Turd.

From the post-game press conference: "As I said, the only value for us is if we learn, and we've got to grow, and we've been in this situation before in other years, and it's September right now; the big thing is how we respond, what kind of improvement we can make on a daily basis and weekly basis."

Baylor? iowa st? he goes somewhere big, and the corruption gets to him. wraps him up like a pig in a blanket. the fat cats. the "too big to lose"... no, he's probably better off there.

The bolded text is why it is so bizarre that ran so few plays out of 3-WR sets, and didn't go there when the game was on the line.

It's alarming how Iowa's interior guys on the Dline are getting handled. They were handled against Miami OH as well. Something is really wrong up front for Iowa defensively. Iowa has good players on the interior that have been shoved all over the field 2 of the first 3 weeks. That is scary considering what Iowa has coming schedule wise.

Offensive line, first they have to get healthy. The whiffing on blocks and just not getting there is alarming as well.

Iowa has a ton of work to do

Yes, DL has been abysmal. And they need AN on the field a lot more, Hesse or not. Seemed like he didn't play much yesterday?

Those that saw that EWU game would have had nothing but respect for their offense. Those guys were making plays that I've never seen a college level offense make. Very few teams tag big points on NDSU like EWU did.

You are lost Bison, you beat a BIG team that was good last year....unfortunately for us this is a different team, with a lot of different parts. The win looks good today, might not in November??? Your team played great, but a great team would sodomize you!!! We could not of played any worse yesterday and you squeak out with a last second field goal. Did you watch the game? We should have lost by 40 points, and hardly trailed in the game. Your team is very lucky!!! Your are far from great!! Hey, keep drinking your koolaid, it's all you got!

Yet before the game you were the #1 ranked offensive line in the country? Please objectively explain to me how your #1 ranked offense went from the greatest in the world to the worst in less than 3 hours?

Iowa's offensive line was ranked #1 in the country by ESPN; some sources I've seen have rated CJ Beathard the #1 senior QB prospect; you'd be hard pressed to find a better 1-2 combo at rb than Daniels and Wadley; and Matt VandeBerg is currently 2nd in the B1G in receiving. But, sure, Iowa has no talent on offense. Is your football acumen valued on North Dakota boards? Because with such an obvious low one your opinion means diddly shit here.

Oh, and ND State is giving up an average of 30.5 pts/game so far this year. So please I'd love to hear more about how much of a defensive juggernaut the Bison are. Get real. There's a reason your team has amassed a recent 5-0 record against FBS opponents--all five of them were garbage. Saturday, you'll get your first taste of what a real FBS opponent is like.

And let me also remind you the Bison football team's best years are behind them. Toodles!!
The level of insanity that some fans rise to is unbelievable.

I wasn't claiming any such thing?!? I thought we should win game, and I still think it's a game this team should not have lost. We have had teams of late that you guys would have slaughtered! I'm afraid we are not a good team, no disrespect to yours...you guys came to win and did it! I'm not sure you beat a good team....time will tell. I know your proud of what your school has accomplished, you should be. It's really amazing what you have accomplished.

They get up for the chance to beat anyone...difference between us and them. give Ferentz another extension! LMAO
