There for the tanking: Embrace the White Sox' pursuit of being the worst team in MLB history

Twins are on their way to their 19th win in their last 21 games vs Sox as they are up 8-5 in the 7th.
Sox have scored 5 runs...whoopee!

When I watch this team, they don't get bad breaks. It's not luck that's working against them. They just suck

I'm telling you non-degens. Even if you are conservative, play a 10 dollar bet on every white sox game the rest of they year. Even at that will buy you some groceries. It's fools money not to take. Sure, you won't get much return, but it adds up.

That sequence in the 8th was something special

- The new guy from the Dodgers that can neither field nor hit makes a terrible play at 3rd where he actively avoids making the tag
- Dropped 3rd strike on the next batter that goes in the catcher's feet, that guy on 3rd starts moving towards home, the catcher still throws it to 1st who then returns it to the catcher, the catcher misses it, and that guy from 3rd scores on a dropped third strike.

Tomorrow is their night to win, otherwise it might hit 34 before they get the Tigers

The post game show is entertaining as none of the guys hold back anymore in their analysis.

I swear watching Roberts play, he's hoping to get DFA'd.

Benintendi not much better.

They don't have enough wins to have statistically beaten every team once. It's August 6th

They have to go 16-31 or better the rest of way to avoid passing the Mets as the all time season loser.
Not sure they can win 16 games.

A buddy had an extra ticket for the Sox-Twins game Sunday. I was aware of the streak, but I was honestly shocked at how inept they were. 1st inning, routine grounded kicked allowing unearned runs. SP couldn't get out of the 2nd. We were in the LF bleachers & I've never seen a player give less of a shit on defense than Andrew Benintendi. We left after 7, & the Twins radio announcer in the 8th - "fly ball to LF, half-hearted attempt by Benintendi, that's over his head & 2 more will come around to score....(silence)...the 2024 Chicago White Sox ladies & gentlemen."

50 consecutive innings without a lead .....numbers keep piling up.
Ahhhh...i jinxed them...benventendi hits a 2out 2 run homer.
But still have to keep lead thru end of inning.

Thank god our long national nightmare is finally over!

Now time for the worm to turn vs cubs this weekend!
Get hot Sox!

Robert and Benintendi both looked like professionals last night, so it's been an effort thing

It's a good thing they promoted a guy with no managerial or coaching experience prior to this year. That could have really upset the clubhouse if they brought in somebody that knows what he's doing

I am a Cubs fan, and I don't want the Sox fans to think I am unfairly piling on. Goodness knows the Cubs have their own problems, but I was struck by the anger on the Score today. Why now? What is the plan? Who is going to want this job? What was Tony LaRussa's role in all of this? Who is picking the next manager? Lawrence Holmes ripped them for the way they fired Grifol, and it might be warranted. It seems like they fired him, waited an hour, then fired some more guys. Did one of the assistants in the second press release refuse to be interim manager? Why the confusing press conference with a word salad statement by the GM? Why not release a statement, figure some stuff out, then have a press conference once you have ironed stuff out and agreed on messaging?

Most of these can be explained by general and pervasive ineptitude across the Sox organization, for decades.

He's probably relieved. Although he'll eventually realize he'll need to explain some of this if he wants another job.
All he’ll have to do is present the roster he was given and the other organization will nod and say, “Oh, right, that’s terrible.”

What? The Sox are run poorly?

Not a fan of Holmes.
It was inevitable that Pedro had to pay for this record altho he never had a chance.
