There's some Old Kirk in Fran

"Old Kirk" has the four best finishes in school history a bcs bowl win, two big ten titles and an a team that went undefeated in the big ten. That 2002 team was as dominant of a team as it gets.

I think what you mean is how passive we got in the 2nd half. I agree in this sense. We weren't near as intense on defense or on the boards in the second half, while ISU stepped up intensity on D, and our offense went from ball movement to stagnant.

I don't know what Fran says in the huddle, but reminding them of how intense they were in the first half and digging deep to get it back wouldn't have been out of line. It didn't appear that happened, and the comeback/collapse continued right up until the end.

Not to single guys out, but Woodbury's 1st half to 2nd half performances typified the entire team. In the first half he was being more assertive and going up stronger than he ever has, while in the second half he went back to meekly putting up alligator armed shots from shoulder height that never stood a chance. Confidence waned, everywhere.
