I just watched American Experience: The Riot Report on PBS. I strongly recommend it.

The conflicts and riots then were serious. They could be worse today if (when?) there's a belief that the 2024 election was stolen.

I agree with much of this, however the Green Party is very much left of the D party. Libertarians believe in limited government which includes government staying out of a woman’s uterus, gay people’s right to marry, legalization of MJ, etc etc. I wouldn’t say we are to the right of Rs.

Still have libertarian leanings. But left-libertarian. Meaning I'm disowned by those who think libertarians are people who hate federal government but love state government, religious power, and corporate power.

REAL libertarians oppose large concentrations of power - of any kind. But we live in a real world where we can't escape them.

So . . . left-libertarians prefer to back the concentrations of power that are governed by constitutions and are responsible to the people - and we prefer those public concentrations of power to be stronger than the corporate and religious concentrations that aren't answerable to the people.

Agent Orange had significant business dealings in China before his presidency through the Trump Organization, however, his administration took a hard stance against China with tariffs and targeting Chinese tech companies. Those tariffs affected over $350 billion worth of Chinese imports. IIRC Biden's been imposing tariffs as well, probably even more, so I'd venture to say, with regards to China, they don't benefit from either president in the WH.

But Trump would like sell America TO the Chinese if it meant more ratings, so there's that aspect as well. Who knows...he actually gets worse by each passing month. I'd love to see a psychological documentary that strictly focuses on how power and influence completely deteriorated Trump's mind. It would be an interesting study into the effects of power on a narcissist

Pretty sure it was a Ken Burns interview, but he discussed waiting @ a generation or so after an event. It helps let the dust settle and the emotion of the event become reflection. I am sure there will be plenty of Trump documentaries if he loses in Nov. If he wins, folks likely wait until he is out of power. I expect there are many angles to the rise and (hopefully) fall of TDS that we haven't even considered that would be interesting.
