Did he really say that or is this an inside joke with Iowa fans?
As a Purdue fan watching the game, so I am obviously biased, I thought Iowa State was very fortunate our coach took our 1st team AA out of the game in the 2nd half for a 5-minute stretch where they started their comeback from 19 points down.
They've got some talented perimeter players/shooters and Burton is pretty good but I thought we dominated the game when Swanigan was on the court and had we allowed Iowa State to come back and win it would've gone down as a huge coaching blunder by Painter to keep him out so long over such a pivotal stretch of the game.

When Iowa beat ISU in Dec, Morris tweeted "We're a better team and Iowa players know it." Morris is pretty much a dbag. Wouldn't surprise me if he tweets some trash after this loss.
This was the best game of the tourney so far. Either of these teams could play with anyone. Looked more like a regional final than a 2nd round game. I would be proud of either team that I rooted for the way they competed.

Morris may get a cold dose of reality at the next level. There's going to be plenty of guys who can check him and his jumper is suspect especially from NBA range 3. Much of this whole 'no turnovers' thing was generated in the Big 12 which is not known for defense.
He was 1-7 from 3 with 3 turnovers including a huge one with the game on the line against Purdue. Against Iowa he was 2-6 from 3 with 2 TOs. So that's 3-13 from 3 with 5 turnovers in 2 games against the B1G that plays D. NBA? There's a reason he's a four year player too.

We have had one coach in my lifetime bring in players with questionable character and we got rid of him. Character appears to be irrelevant when offering players to play at ISU. Another reason why it is so hard for me to get behind this team.
It's times like this that I'm reminded why there is so much hatred in this rivalry based on the comments above. C'mon now, the fourth best Big 12 team lead the best Big 10 team late and didn't pull it out and now they're a bunch of bums? Was Purudue not the higher seed? The ISU players are classless, seriously? There's plenty of kids, fans, charity's and hospitals that would probably disagree. ISU is going to suck after this year? Jackson, Young, Babb and Lard are a decent foundation; the recruit class is one of the best in school history and there are 3 scholarships left for transfer season. I earnestly cheer for Iowa when not playing ISU, times like this make it more difficult.

I guess when you are an isu fan there is a ton of things that they simply want to ignore about how classless their players act.

I think your players act classless on the court especially when you consider they have not beaten a power 5/6 team in the last 3 NCAA tournaments. Not one! They are calling each other on the make believe phone when it's Nevada but there is no phone calls being made against Purdue when they find themselves down 19? The point guard is calling out the other point guard PJ Thompson while going 1-7 from 3 and committing a terrible turnover in crunch time? He's telling PJ how he's going to the NBA and PJ is not? PJ simply hits a game deciding 3 and knocks down both pressure FTs! What's Mr NBA say about that? ISU lead once in the game at the 3 minute mark. One time and trailed by 19 to a supposed garbage basketball league? Let's also keep in mind Morris is the same guy that talked publically about embarrassing Iowa and planning something special only to go 2-6 from 3 with 2 turnovers!
Yes I do agree on one thing and that is ISU will be good for sometime and they also play in a league that's manageable in order to be good and get great seeds.

this, every year the big 12 gets these unbelievable rankings that then make their sos so much better. plus in bball they always get these gaudy seeds, it is so bad I think espn has a hand in the seedings....
Its crap like that makes it hard for people to like ISU. They act like their Sh!t don't stink at times.
I honestly cheer for ISU when they are not playing Iowa. But their fans and some of their players make it hard to. No need for trash talk, just play the game and be done with it.

But in l-game trash talking? Come on man, a lot worse is said every game. That's weak, and Thompson should keep that stuff on the court. Trash talking is part of the game, and definitely one my favorite parts of the game. When it comes to trash talk, Larry Legend = GOAT.
The correct response to Morris's trash talk should have been, "No buddy, I will be playing in Kansas City next week."

Transfer season? Wow, never heard it called that... Don't get me wrong, transfers are a thing, and any team would be foolish to turn down a highly talented player should the opportunity present itself, but you should probably not use that terminology since most ISU fans scoff at the phrase 'Transfer U.'
The thing is Iowa fans knew after we were losing a class full of seniors next season would Be a down year compared to previous few. But do isu fans really think they will be any where close as to where this team was last 2 years? If so that is just crazy. Nice comparison I'd give them is look at OU losing Hield and 4 other guys and even with some talented freshman was a rebuilding year. Least Iowa had an all conference player along with 2 1st team all fresh team and 6th man of year and still took a dip. Reality will set in next year when they realize hoibergs guys are gone and the prohm era officially begins. Because if I looked at guys have returning I'm not thinking it's a great foundation. As for Morris I think he's a great player and clone fans will see next year how big of a drop have in pg play but bad thing for monte and the draft it's all about timing and this years draft loaded with PGs.
But least clone fans have football season to look forward to now...
