This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

"The Spartan tracked APCs (Armored Personnel Carrier) vehicles were brought by the Petro Poroshenko Foundation together with the volunteers of the NGO Sprava Hromad (Community Issue). This is not the first time that the association has acquired military equipment thanks to donations and private funds.

In July 2022, the Ukrainian armed forces received 350 Autel drones purchased by the Poroshenko Foundation and volunteers of the NGO Sprava Hromad (Community Issue). In total, 50 Autel EVO II 640T Dual UAVs with thermal imagers and additional batteries and 300 Autel EVO Lite+ UAVs were purchased.

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the Petro Poroshenko Foundation and volunteers handed over aid in the amount of almost US $46 million to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These funds were used to purchase thousands of body armor articles and Kevlar helmets, weapons, and hundreds of combat vehicles for the needs of the front, including armored cars, trucks and pickups, thermal imaging cameras, hundreds of drones, electric generators, digital radio stations, military clothing, first-aid kits, water purification systems, and construction materials."

What's the temperature inside one of these in January? Do they have heat pumping? Is it even necessary given the tight quarters? You all who have served and/or spent any time inside these types of machines have my deep respect.

Wouldn’t stacking and detonating them on the road destroy the road?
My issue is, wouldn't some of them fail to explode and arch into the air to explode at a later time? Seems haphazard. Seems like something my cousins from Louisa County would dream up. "Let's get a bunch of s*** together and let it all off at once"!
At least put it in a pit and detonate it.

Poroshenko is an intriguing dude. He seems to have put Ukraine largely on the path away from corruption, and stepped down without a fuss when Zelensky was voted in. I know the Russians hated him, so I never thought much of some of the allegations against him. I assume a lot of it was FSB disinformation. He could be living overseas, but he's been in the thick of it since the war started.

Hard to imagine explosions like that being part of everyday life. It reminds me of the Bastogne scenes in Band of Brothers, where the explosions are likened to the Fourth of July, except the reality is exponentially more horrifying. I'm hoping peace comes quickly in 2023.

I've got some bad news for you, the world is in an arms race right now

No question about that. We've seen this movie before, with increased deterrence measures around the world escalating things. Can peace co-exist with an arms race (or better put, can we live with a cold war rather than what's happening in Ukraine?)?
