i think many of us think of a lot of the conflict as HIMARS blowing up targets from afar, but nope, that is intense close range combat…

Just in time for the airing of the grievances. Feats of strength upcoming, don’t think Russia will fare well.
And in spectacular fashion with a whopping 660!
There it is. 100K.
I always wonder with these postings....what are the Ukrainian losses?
Based on what I have read I think probably 25-30k. It has come at a price for sure.I always wonder with these postings....what are the Ukrainian losses?
Would provide a better picture of what's actually going on...
The Ukrainians want to keep that under raps (understandable) and the western allies don't want to advertise it (understandable). Just from a sidelines perspective...it'd help with we knew the situation on the other side.
Milley's "controversial" statement a few weeks ago said that Ukraine has suffered "similar" casualties.Based on what I have read I think probably 25-30k. It has come at a price for sure.
I would not be surprised if they have suffered similar overall casualties numbers but think Russians are having much greater percentage die. They are getting hit by higher tech weapons and are poorly equipped and trained and for sure have terrible medical support for wounded.Milley's "controversial" statement a few weeks ago said that Ukraine has suffered "similar" casualties.
I think a EU representative had to walk back a similar statement of few weeks ago as well....
Who knows?
Regardless...this has been a meat grinder war.
Look, I am biased, and rooting for Team Ukraine, but I doubted Milley's assessment. I just don't think we have a good handle on it, but there has been some decent anecdotal reporting about deaths on each side. The Russian leaders clearly don't care about the lives of their soldiers, and the Ukrainians do. Anecdotally you see stories about journalists tracking death notices in each country and trying to extrapolate totals.Milley's "controversial" statement a few weeks ago said that Ukraine has suffered "similar" casualties.

Gaetz and Boebert also made a planned spectacle of themselves by refusing to pass through a security checkpoint. As members of Congress they do not have to, but can be fined for not following regulations.
Honestly I'm to the point where I wish Donald Trump Jr would get hit by a bus. Ivanka crawled under a rock after the insurrection. It's sickening that Little Don and Eric won't STFU and exit the national stage.Good thing Biden’s president and not the former guy.
Eric’s a moron but Jr is a world-class douchebag POS.Honestly I'm to the point where I wish Donald Trump Jr would get hit by a bus. Ivanka crawled under a rock after the insurrection. It's sickening that Little Don and Eric won't STFU and exit the national stage.
The trump crime syndicate has taken assholery to a level never before seen.Gaetz and Boebert also made a planned spectacle of themselves by refusing to pass through a security checkpoint. As members of Congress they do not have to, but can be fined for not following regulations.
Performance art from two of the most contemptible members of Congress. Our tax dollars at work, folks.
No argument.Look, I am biased, and rooting for Team Ukraine, but I doubted Milley's assessment. We just don't know, but one country is press ganging convicts and drunks off the street. Those guys don't last on the battlefield.
Oh, I'm certain there have been a lot of lives lost, especially if you consider the civilian loss of life in cities like Mariupol, etc... where they just killed or deported everyone. But there's no way that Ukraine could be sustaining the type of loss of life that Russia is reportedly suffering and still be holding on as strong as they are regardless of weapons. They simply don't have the numbers to keep pushing. No argument.
I think it's pretty obvious the Russians have suffered more casualties. Just think Ukrainian losses are probably under reported...
I think this article in NYT kind of illustrates it when they talk about the hospital in Bakhmut...

In Ukraine, Bakhmut Becomes a Bloody Vortex for 2 Militaries
Even as they have celebrated successes elsewhere, Ukrainian forces in one small eastern city have endured relentless Russian attacks. And the struggle to hold it is only intensifying.www.nytimes.com

Problem solved. She later re-released a video with the casualty estimate edited out.
