This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

In other words, Russian and China are 100% forming a military alliance

Snyder’s The Road to Unfreedom is a book of contemporary history. Snyder recounts Russia’s attempts to undermine Western democracies by supporting far-right movements in Europe and describes Russia’s 2014 invasion of Ukraine and its cyber campaign to meddle with the US presidential election in 2016.

KIA continuing to trend down.

I am guessing this is indicative of Russia scaling back its offensive operations.

Looks like it's time for UKR to go on the offense.
Equipment destruction is still devastating on a daily basis. Agree that it suggests they are running out of meat for the grinder that won't cause a lot of squawking, such as prisoners and suckers from Russia's outer rim.

Everyone got their bunkers ready? Or played fallout recently?!

Sounds like they continue to play the "scare the West card"-moving tactical nukes to Belarus and shooting off a missile in the Sea of Japan. Not to mention their secret weapon mentioned last week:) At this point it appears to be all they have left.

more on this:

I doubt this is for external consumption, although it does appeal to the "they were just tourists", crowd. Russia has to keep up the narrative that they are saving Ukraine in order to keep their population docile.

Russia talks about escalation? This is escalation. One step away from them using truly nasty stuff.

I've stayed off the nuke subject but...since I'm known for it...here goes.

Always thought the most dangerous time as far as nukes go is if Russia really starts getting their asses handed to them. As in their military collapsing and Ukraine looking like they're gonna take back pre 2014 territory.

If they're gonna break out tactical nukes that'll be the time...

I don't disagree, but this may be where China comes in to play. I cannot imagine the Chinese being on board with any nuclear response.
