This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

Are we sure this is authentic or some sort of counter propaganda?
No-we don't know if anything is true. I think we can infer though Russia is for sure not having the cake walk they thought it was going to be and the average soldiers are not motivated to fight the Ukrainians who they few as cousins and former countrymen. I feel like some of the numbers of dead and destroyed equipment almost have to be elevated. But if true....wow.

For $607 you could be in Poland by Sunday. Head to the boarder and show them your US passport. I am sure they will be happy to hand you a gun and point you towards the fighting.
Let’s take up a collection and get HH to the front.
Somebody volunteer to bring in his mail, water his plants, feed the dog.
Wolverines hellz yeah!

If they step foot in any NATO country I’m guessing the mission is not just defend NATO but it becomes regime change time in Russia.

Now whether nukes would be used or not, who knows, but if that’s Putin’s chosen path than that’s what will happen.

This is what worries me.

If Putin has some form of terminal illness, like cancer, and has a year or so to live, then it makes sense to go "all in" on a gamble to rebuild the "glory of the Soviet Union" on his way out. And if that doesn't work in short order, then just "erase the whole thing" because it doesn't matter to him, anyway.

Does it matter that I'm not serving? I just don't want to get bullied by Putin.
I hear Ukraine is looking for foreign fighters and you're apparently not tied down with service.

Sounds like a win/win for all parties involved. Probably could find a flight to Warsaw with an open seat or two.

Holy **** if this is true

I agree - this is a big deal IF true. We know about propaganda in wars. (The US basically made up the number of daily kills in Vietnam.)

Also wonder if that transport shot down (many think) was trying to bring in more Javelins and ammo. It will be a big problem trying to re-supply the cities once they are surrounded.

Look out for a bald dude - maybe shirtless or wearing a karate outfit and a short man attitude.
Most likely riding a bear.

They don't have the infantry to do this.

Ukrainians can hide the Javelins anywhere and engage in guerrilla tactics to take out the Big Stuff from anywhere.
It will be mechanized which means they will use air assets to scout and when they see a high risk area for ambush they have to dismount and engage or clear the site. Very slow.

Russia isn't just going to send in tanks without support especially when they know the enemy has anti tank weapons....that is just playing in the enemies hands.

Poland is weaker?
The Poles have huge grudges against the Russians and I’m just not sure I agree they’d be weaker. Those guys are very tough.
Weaker may be the wrong word, what I meant, and what you most likely understood is they are considerably smaller. As in less than 10% of the personnel of Russia or the United States.

That’s a ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft gun mounted on the back of that truck.
Those guys weren’t ‘saboteurs’, somehow they got separated from whomever they’re supposed to be supporting.
Imagine driving a truck in a foreign city lost while catching small arms fire left and right.

I guess we show this video when someone asks why an individual would want an AR?
An armed populace is difficult to subdue.
See: Afghanistan

Gotcha. But no NATO country is strong on its own. Except US.

Interesting you project sympathy onto those guys and assume the best....

In a urban environment, there’s no choice. We had plenty of Abrams tanks disabled in Iraq before the TUSK package was fitted. And if Russia intends to take and hold Kiev or other urban areas, they’re going to have put their armor at risk. Except, while ours were sometimes disabled, theirs will be destroyed, because, well, Russia’s tanks are junk. Just like pretty much all of their equipment.

It is my understanding they also have a very large and among the worlds best Special Force type units. These guys can wreak havoc similar to what is happening in Ukraine.

....but I don't think Joe was talking about an urban environment and an urban environment isn't where the Javelin is best suited. It needs at least 65m for a side shot or 150m for a top shot.

I can't sympathize with conscripts?
I do feel bad for the situation they find themselves in.

'I Don't Know Why He's There': Russian Mothers Say Soldiers Tricked Into Going to Ukraine

Russian law prohibits conscripts from being sent to the front unless they choose to sign a contract and become career soldiers. But in Ukraine, 'there are a lot of draftees. None of them signed up'
link

Not sure what you meant by 'assume the best'.
I just don't think an Infantry Fighting Vehicle and AA truck is a group of 'saboteurs'.
I think those are frontline troops that are trying to take over / move through that city.
