A background for understanding today's #fire at Russian "#Wildberries" warehouse in #Petersburg. Russian companies obliged to pay a "slave toll" to the army, delivering a number of recruits. Some companies pay ransoms to protect employees. Wildberries, a Russian clone of Amazon, did the opposite: they mass-delivered slave soldiers, allegedly against some privileges for their business. Since 2022, Wildberries helped police to mass-arrest employees and forcibly recruit them. They pushed personnel out of the offices and warehouses into streets, where police waited for them, and arrested for the army. It was a well-known practice. Only in September 2022, Wildberries delivered 3,000 slave soldiers to the army, so many, that their warehouse in Koledino, Moscow region, could not function anymore. According to rumours, today's fire in Petersburg was set by employees who were furious about the plans of their slave owners to sell them to the army.

I’m sitting here in Iowa looking outside at frigid temps wondering what I would do if I had no heat and no one I knew had heat either. What a miserable and potentially life ending experience. The elderly won’t survive long. The longer they go without heat, what is the long term ramifications to all the infrastructure?

This is one of the few times I feel a little sympathy for the Russians. The other is the many videos of drone attacks on Russians trying to carry their wounded. Guess it's true all is fair in love and war.

This, unfortunately, is what it will take for the citizenry to say “no more.” What that develops into is anybody’s guess. There was a post/link (?) a while back about the second in command guy likely to replace pootie.
His name is Patruzin or something similar and of course it will be more from the same playbook.

The aggressor state of Russia has serious difficulties with the maintenance of high-flying aircraft. Due to the lack of capacity and specialists, Moscow is trying to reorient aircraft maintenance to Iran, where the relevant work is carried out "artisanally" - without appropriate certification.

"artisanally" and "aircraft maintenance" would not be things I'd want associated together....

Does that mean relevant upkeep is “subject to artistic interpretation”?
The emperor has no clothes. The emperor has no clothes. The emperor has no clothes.

I do not know. But I do know Ukraine is in a state of martial law and normal rights are suspended and foreigners are especially viewed as potential spies.

What they do with treasonous pieces of shit is their business.
How can an American-Chilean citizen be guilty of treason against Ukraine?

What they do with Americans is actually our business.

“Today we produce TNT in three shifts, 24 hours a day,”– said the director of the enterprise, Dominik Savitsky.A similar picture is observed at other enterprises. In particular, the Lucznik plant from #Radom wants to produce 100,000 #rifles per year. Even before the war in Ukraine, such a statement would have sounded like a science fiction story. Today it is supported by significant investments and technological acceleration, the publication notes. In addition, the Huta Stalowa Wola howitzer and armored personnel carrier plant has been instructed to double its supplies in two years."
