Why TF hasn't the US provided long range missiles? It isn't like our hemline isn't soiled already. We gave them cluster munitions. There isn't a big worry about using them against Russian territory, there are plenty of juicy targets in Crimea and the Donbas. If a few make it to Rostov, or some airbase 200-300 miles inside Russia, I'm okay with that.

The steel and aluminum armor on the 30-ton, 10-person M-2 can stop 30-millimeter armor-piercing ammunition. Add reactive armor, and the BAE Systems-built Bradley also can stop 30-millimeter sabot rounds.This is better protection than the Russian BMP-2 and BMP-3 IFVs enjoy. The BMP-2 can withstand 23-millimeter armor-piercing rounds, but only along its frontal arc; the BMP-3 can withstand 30-millimeter AP fire along the front.
The M-2’s Bradley Reactive Armor Tiles, or BRAT, also improve protection against hollow-charge munitions such as the RPG-7 as well as older anti-tank missiles with high-explosive anti-tank warheads.
For protection against mines, the Bradley has a nine-millimeter plate on the front of its belly. What the Russian soldiers did in Bucha wasn't "good people" on both sides, dipshit.
Of course that is correct. Only a dipshit would come back with what you did. I actually know people who were in Bucha, one of which was later severely wounded after being drafted, losing his arm. What the US did at My Lai, No Gun Ri, and so forth were not done by nice people. War is hell. I am pro Ukraine, but Azov I know for certain fired on fleeing civilians at Mariupol. The Kremenchuk mall was being used as a weapons depot while fully functional as a weapons depot.
In the end in Vietnam, over 1.3 millions people died, the majority of which were civilians. Over what? What good in the long run?
This thread looks like a propaganda piece. Ukraine, like Russia is suffering major losses. It was posted how great Bradley's are when over 25 percent are already out of action (maybe more). It's a hellish war and in 30 years, none of this will matter. The way some post on here one would think the war will be over in days. In may be, but it is just as likely that Ukraine will collapse as the Russian forces. I have friends in Moscow. I have Ukrainian friends in Russia. Right now I'm concerned about a 21 yo college student that I've known since he was 18 months old facing military duty upon graduation in May. I have a female friend that narrowly escaped a missile strike. A farm friend who had Russian missiles shot down over his house.
The thread reads like a Hawkeye homer thread. People are dying. Terrible situation brought on by a number of factors including and foremost a dictator (Putin) who didn't develop the economy past natural resources and military weapons, Ukrainians oligarch/politicians who wanted to gain through corruption and no one stopped them. US leaders, some motivated by capital gain not properly reading Russian culture, history and mindset to understand the gravity of the situation.
Ukraine is not winning this war. Neither is Russia, though I'd guess Russia has more fortitude than the US.
Videos of tanks crossing pontoon bridges or moving in the open field is not at the front line of either side.

I work with a guy from Ukraine. Most of his family is displaced or fighting and they and he are still in full support of the war.
Of course people are dying and terrible stuff is happening. It always does.
Comparing Vietnam to this is utterly absurd.
At this point, the cat is out of the bag. I don't see a lot of gain from cheering videos of people dying on either side. What I do know whoever wins, this war won't matter much in 2050.
What could have avoided this situation?
1. US leaders to study Russian culture/history
2. Force Ukraine to clean up corruption
3. US should have never trained AZOV and a few others....ever
4. Biden pretty much like Bush in Kuwait said nothing would happen but was never the intention. Putin was baited.
5. US stop meddling in the MidEast oil areas and destabilizing Syria (was over a pipeline and involved Ukrainian Donbas. US went for Russian lifeline. Russian was never going to settle for not having a military presence in the Black Sea.
6. Related to 5...incentives for Russia to diversify its economy.
7. Stay out of Ukrainian politics.
8. Do not move NATO forward.

Always remember, the US wanted the Germans and Soviets to kill each other on the eastern front. US forces until near the end were tiny compared to the Germans/Soviets. For Ardennes offensive, the Germans used about 10 percent of their forces compared to the east.
The people who will die in this war (and emotionally scared) would not have much different of a life regardless who wins if they didn't die.

No it's not. I have actual friends who are on either side of that coin, most want it over though. Most are from Kyiv east to Kharkiv and I have been in their homes. Not comparing to Vietnam is what is absurd. The US will tire of this. I haven't asked lately, but during the donbas fighting earlier, pensioners were receiving checks from both nations.
I've been in Kyiv during protests. I've walked through and taken pics of the protests. My vehicle was caught between pro Ukraine and pro Russian demonstrators. Most simply wanted the $60 pay each day for protesting. I paid a bribe to an officer to get to my downtown apartment near Maidan.
Ukraine is not a wonderful democracy. Putin is terrible. Most just want to leave in peace and have both sides leave them alone. One of my friend's dad is stuck on the Russian side of the Dneipro. She's in Kyiv.
We can agree on one thing. This war is terrible. Ukraine isn't winning anytime soon.
As a footnote, most of my friends are more afraid of a radioactive fallout cloud than Russian forces. They are more afraid of Azov than Russian forces.

The West was deeply invested in the economic development of Russia. To say otherwise is uninformed.
Why are we bringing "communism" into the reality here that this is authoritarians trying to maintain power?
