I’m throwing this out right now that the October surprise in the U.S. presidential elections is Russia using a nuclear weapon against a Ukrainian air base housing F-16’s.

Eventually a country losing troops, equipment and infrastructure at the rate Russia is will turn to the most powerful weapon in their arsenal.

Yet nuclear strategizing and determining an adversary’s red lines remain a high-stakes game of chicken.

“It is like we’re walking in the dark toward a cliff,” said Christopher Chivvis, who has assessed nuclear-risk issues at Rand and as a U.S. intelligence officer. “It is out there somewhere. We just don’t know where it is.”

The Witches of Bucha. A solid AP read about female volunteers who gear up at night and watch the skies for Russian drones. The story mostly follows two doctors from Bucha who lived through the horrors of the Russian massacre.

Would be pretty dumb. We’ve already stated that if that happened that we would eliminate every Russian asset that is currently in occupied Ukraine. Why would they abandon the gains they’ve made?

Maybe Russia doesn't believe NATO would finally do something. One can see why that may be the case.

And they'd isolate themselves from the West for decades.

Their oligarchs do not want this, because they'd be pariahs across the globe. They want to travel to Western nations, and they'd all be banned from Western countries.

And, Western nations cannot break their addiction to having oligarchs spend money in their countries.

Boo hoo
