This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

The West does not have the guts.

"Many are now saying that it is too late to ramp up production for Ukraine. This is only partially true. It is correct that we squandered 2.5 years with doing almost nothing, but we have assets to react almost instantly. What we can do right now is assembling a force which moves into Ukraine. In German we would call this "Sperrverband" (Blockade force).

It does not have to be even big, at least not in the beginning, but it should comprise of almost all European countries, NATO/EU and non-NATO/non-EU alike. The mission statement of that force is as follows:- Securing the entire air space West of the Dnipro river and neutralizing any enemy aerial vehicles, in the same way we do it for Israel when it comes to Iran- Securing critical infrastructure such as power plants, transmitter stations and power lanes and launching repair operations across the country- Relieving all Ukrainian combat forces in those sectors and enabling them to be re-deployed to Ukraine's East, including their air defense assets such as Patriot batteries

.- Preventing any refugee streams from happening, by starting reconstruction programs and ensuring safetyOn the political/economic side the following measures must be taken:- Extend all sanctions against Russia on embargo level and close all loopholes in the sanction regime-

Launch mass production in munition factories across Europe by repurposing workers from struggling Western companies and sending them into the military industrial complex.- Supply Ukraine with potent long-range missiles such as Tomahawks and TAURUS and remove all restrictions- Extend all defense budgets of EU countries and make them mandatory to be at a level of at least 4%. Countries who miss the quote, pay with their share from the EU budget. - Increase spending if necessary using new debts and cut social security programs down to a bare minimum which harm European economies (e.g. Bürgergeld in Germany).

Deport illegals who do not contribute to the economy or are criminals.- Energy production across Europe must be focused on efficiency for the remainder of this war and beyond. That includes nuclear technology. Renewable energy is still preferable to be used, but not at the cost of our defense capabilities.- Inform China, India and other countries that any violation of that sanction regime will be met with swift sanctions against the companies in those countries, including the banks which facilitated that. - Removing all Russian embassy members (spies) and leave only the ambassador and one aide who can pick up the phone. Diplomatic ties down to almost zero, but keeping an ear open.

The list is not complete, but this is just the beginning. We are at war and it is irrelevant, whether we like it or not. We have to win this war and I would prefer to do this with Ukraine 80% still free and more than 30 million Ukrainians at our side. If we don't do this, then we might have not only to bear millions of refugees but an emboldened and strengthened Russia, which will certainly invade our lands. We cannot avoid confrontation, but we can face it to our terms and in a favorable fashion. This is our last chance."

FWIW, NATO is done

All Putin has to do is attack somewhere, and Trump refuses to honor the agreement.
Over.

Will true GOP conservatives impeach and remove him for his prior actions and future ones? Or, because they've lied and misled their voters for so many years, will they basically be powerless to do anything? That is what happened after 1/6 - they were unable to speak out, due to fears for themselves and their own families from their constituents. Think how this plays out now that Trump runs DOJ and can create his own Gestapo....

The scholar who famously warned in 2014 that NATO was provoking Russia in Ukraine on the state of the war and the troubles ahead.

John Mearsheimer, the eminent political scientist who has warned for years that NATO’s Ukraine policy would lead to disaster, joins Aaron Maté to assess the state of the Ukraine proxy war and the dangers ahead.

It’s no longer tenable to try and argue this guy was wrong.
He’s been spot on.

More Russian talking points from you.

NATO had nothing to do w/ Putin's aggressions.
The Baltics joined long ago; Finland is now in.

These are simply gaslighting what Putin is actually about.

May be a few more details.

"The aid distribution is divided into two parts: $4 billion will be allocated via the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA), which allows weapons to be drawn directly from U.S. reserves, while the remaining $2 billion will come from the USAI, a security assistance program designed to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities. Singh reiterated that Washington is confident in its ability to fulfill these commitments before the new administration takes office." (More)

I understand you can’t appreciate that his predictions have come true.

Care to bet whether NATO membership is excluded as part of the peace agreement?

"Donald Trump's phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday included two surprises: Elon Musk was also on the line, and Zelensky was somewhat reassured by what he heard from the president-elect, two sources with knowledge of the call tell Axios.
Why it matters: The new details of the call underscore how influential Musk could be in the second Trump administration, and the uncertainty over how exactly Trump will approach Ukraine.

Between the lines: Trump's public messages throughout the election campaign — promising a quick resolution to the war, declining to say which side he wanted to win and criticizing the massive aid packages flowing from Washington — raised alarm bells in Kyiv and throughout Europe.

  • The Biden administration is now looking for ways to get as much military assistance as possible to Ukraine ahead of Jan. 20, when Trump could turn off the spigot.
  • But the private conversations Trump and his team have had with Zelensky and his advisers over the last two months — including on Wednesday — were somewhat more reassuring to the Ukrainians, the sources say.
  • Zelensky himself felt the fact that the call happened so soon after Trump was declared the winner was a positive sign, one of the sources told Axios. Trump has yet to speak with Vladimir Putin since the election, but the Russian president said he will pick up if Trump calls.
Behind the scenes: The call between Trump and Zelensky lasted around 25 minutes, according to the sources who were briefed on its details.

  • After Zelensky congratulated Trump, the president-elect said he will support Ukraine, but didn't go into details.
  • Three sources briefed on the call all told Axios that Zelensky felt the call went well and that it did not increase his anxiety about Trump's victory. One source said it "didn't leave Zelensky with a feeling of despair."
  • Musk also weighed in during the call to say he will continue supporting Ukraine through his Starlink satellites, the sources said. Musk did not respond to a request for comment.
    • Starlink has been crucial to Ukraine's war effort, though Musk has also mocked Zelensky's requests for U.S. aid, and Zelensky rebuked the billionaire for proposing a peace plan of his own in 2022.
Reality check: Much went unsaid, and much remains unknown. Trump and Zelensky did not delve into policies like Trump's purported plan to end the war, or the prospect of further U.S. aid, the sources said.

Flashback: Zelensky met Trump in September in New York, at which time they discussed the war with Russia and a possible diplomatic path for ending it.

  • According to three sources with knowledge of that meeting, Trump told Zelensky he would not abandon Ukraine, but wants to give diplomacy a chance.
  • "I promise you will be happy with me," Trump told Zelensky during that meeting, according to a source with knowledge. The Trump campaign declined to comment on Wednesday's call or the previous meeting.
  • In attendance at that meeting was former U.S. ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell, a possible Trump pick for secretary of state or another senior post. Grenell is expected to play a leading role in any Ukraine diplomacy.
  • Since the meeting in New York, Zelensky's adviser have kept an open channel of communication with Trump's aides.
What they're saying:

"Nothing of what Zelensky and his aides heard from Trump and his team in private has been alarming or made us feel that Ukraine is going to be the one who pays the price."
— Source familiar with the conversations
"I had an excellent call with President Trump and congratulated him on his historic landslide victory — his tremendous campaign made this result possible," Zelensky wrote on X after the call on Wednesday."

Trump will give Putin the green light to use nukes on Ukraine.
Once Putin gives him something he wants, like a fancy hotel complex in Moscow.

You don't understand that while "predictions" may have come true, they are not based on the "causes" you are citing

Russia is not a normal nation-state. It is a mafia organization run by oligarchs.
You think the former ambassador to Russia, now CIA Director, was lying when he sent a classified cable to DC explaining Russia’s reaction to the 2008 Bucharest Memorandum?
You think he was trying to ‘spin’ the White House?

I think he presented a sober, honest assessment. Not sure how familiar you are with either concept.

Noticed you didn’t accept the bet.

Russia’s primary war aim is keeping Ukraine out of NATO. That will be stipulated in the final peace agreement just like it was in the April 2022 draft.

All this indicates is that Putin planned to take over any non-NATO territory from the get-go.
He never had any plan or purpose to act like a normal country.

Chinese factory winding optical fibre for Russian drones - 10 kilometers in 50 mins. They sold 1200 coils to Russia last months and Russian orders increased, so they had to add more winding machines.

These drones with EW immunity are mostly attacking Ukrainian forces in Kursk region.

Syrski, the commander of the Ukrainian Army, announced today that Ukrainian forces are retreating from Kursk.

Quote what in the cable supports that idea.
I do not need "what is in the cable" to see and understand what is visible to my own eyes and ears.

NATO is not, and has never been, an "offensive" alliance.
All it does is take things "off the plate" for Putin to invade and take over. That doesn't "trigger" his actions. It prevents them in the long run.

And now that you know who is able to "buy" Trump's affections, you should be pretty concerned about Russia/China alliances.
But, instead, you post and regurgitate Russian propaganda.
