This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

Another idiot that thinks that Putin should get away with destroying Ukraine.

Spent a bit of time a couple times this week in bomb shelters. The whole country was on alert when those bastards launched the ICBMs. The problem is people have become complacent. I have a few tricks and networks of people who can tell me which region or city the drones or missiles are heading to. I also know after the fact how many were shot down. Spoiler alert - not all get shot down.

OSLO, Nov 21 (Reuters) - A security guard working at the U.S. embassy in Norway has been arrested on suspicion of espionage on behalf of Russia and Iran, a Norwegian security police official said on Thursday.
The man, a Norwegian citizen in his 20s, was arrested at his home on Wednesday, police said. On Thursday, a court ruled he could be detained for an initial four weeks, with the first week in isolation, while police investigate.

Left Ukraine for a bit. I head to Sweden to host some training courses for clinicians interested in helping in Ukraine. Our boxes of clothes and coats have not arrived yet so tomorrow we go shopping for some heavier winter coats. Yes we have lived in Florida for over 25 years. We still do own heavy winter coats. Unfortunately the boat is taking much longer to get here than expected. So Sweden calls on Monday. Not sure I will like it getting dark at 3 pm..then back to Ukraine to finish some work before Christmas. Santa may come early for those in need

Stay safe friend.

Stay safe friend.
Thank you all. You call me friend means so very much to me. Everyday is a new experience and a new adventure.

I wasn't sure I would share this, but I was assaulted on the train from Poland to Ukraine. A man who was kinda huge, elbows my college in the mouth and later punched me in the eye. Then ran off the train. He was harassing us earlier. Was acting aggressive so I chose not to escalate the situation. Looking back he was trying to get me to go first so he had an out. When I decided not to engage it upset him. I have traveled internationally for over 30 years and never had anything like this happen. I am ok, eye still sees double vision but getting better. The police didn't take us seriously until we had some help from the interior director who tore into these cops. The man ran off the train at the next stop and then apparently went on to assault more people. He was captured and will spend years in jail. I should have been more aware but this shit does not happen on these trains at all. So almost a week later I can deal with the randomness of this. We in the US deal with people killing others everywhere and everyday for no reason at all. Here guns are restricted and most knives are too. It could have been worse but I think it would not have been because this man wanted to provoke. Harm. Hurt. Assault. Others. He could not kill.

Excerpt -

"DOD, in partnership with the National Nuclear Security Administration, has already taken steps to field capabilities to enhance nuclear deterrence and flexibility and to reduce risk to the department's nuclear modernization program, Johnson said.
These include the B61-13 gravity bomb, delivered by aircraft, as well as the enhanced readiness of nuclear armed and powered Ohio-class submarines, he said.
The Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration would produce the B61-13, which is a modern variant of the B61. "

Nice sentiment, but the article mentions the Brits are down to their smallest standing army since the 1700s.

MIC says, “what do we need war for?”

Oana Lungescu, who worked at NATO between 2010 and 2024, told a Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) briefing in London on Thursday, that a majority of America’s allies in NATO were spending at least 2 percent of GDP on defense.

But she said, “Obviously, we’re in a better place than we used to be, but is 2 percent enough? Does anybody here think that 2 percent is enough?”

She was speaking as the Ukrainian military claimed Russian forces struck the Ukrainian city of Dnipro with an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on Nov. 21.

The alleged ICBM strike happened just days after reports emerged the United States had allowed Ukraine to use U.S.-origin long-range weapons for deep strikes inside Russian territory; a request Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has made for months.

Russia says Ukraine used the Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) against Russia’s Bryansk region on Nov. 19.

Amid the apparent escalation of the Ukrainian conflict, Lungescu, said: “I would think that there will be a big push towards 3 percent and frankly, we should not need Donald Trump to tell us that we need [to spend] 3 percent.

“Frankly, if there is any change or moderation of the US commitment to Europe ... we will need 4 percent and 5 percent of GDP on defense.”
