This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

Security guarantees are going to have to come from the west as Russia can’t be trusted.
Once the war is over help Ukraine rebuild and continue to arm them. If th EU wants them as a member so much the better. Even without NATO membership doing those things will make Russia reluctant to have another go…
Well I can’t see anyone strong enough to deter Russia that isn’t from the West anyways.

The question is what does Russia give in terms of security guarantees? Their word is meaningless. There either needs to be a significant neutral military force established between them or NATO membership.
Anything less is akin to a cease fire that will break at any second. Israel/Palestine.
I’m not sure what country would be acceptable to both sides. First it can’t be anyone closely aligned with either party. Secondly they must be strong enough for Russia not to **** with.
….Poland….
They remember WW2.

Russia doesn’t deserve an inch of Ukrainian land but reality is reality.
Any deal is most likely gonna end up with Ukraine losing some territory.
Why is that reality? Why does it have to be reality? This is the whole issue I have, republicans have slow footed us all along, with the ultimate goal to give land to Russia.

"More than 1,200 political prisoners, often detained - without access to a lawyer - or without the possibility of communicating with their... loved ones!A Nobel Peace Prize winner behind... bars!"

Here is what I would love to see happen, some high tech weaponry make it on to the battlefield, that essential pushes Russia back quickly. Zelensky thanks the US, Russia is pissed, Trump is pissed. and unfortunate circumstance occurs :) and a major investigation begins.

"Alternative for Germany is a far-right and right-wing populist political party in Germany. The AfD is Eurosceptic, and opposes immigration into Germany, especially Muslim immigration. The German judiciary has classified the party as a "suspected extremist" party. Wikipedia"

Who decides who is far-right? Political parties smear each other all the time.

For example, I was told Trump’s first Admin was far right but that wasn’t the case in the end. Dems just used it as a slur because they disagreed with his policies.

Which judiciary? When? Do those judges belong to opposition political parties?

France, the Baltics, Poland, Romania, the Fins and Swedes... seem to understand that dictators are always willing for another go. If Trump surrenders bits of Ukraine to Russia, that will only whet his appetite for the Baltics. His PR machine has already started to pave the way for reclaiming this part of Imperial Russia. He wants part of Poland, too.
Appeasement doesn't work.

Interesting story from occupied Crimea. The Russians appear to be re-activating a Soviet era base in Balaklava Bay that housed submarines. The base had strong support facilities above ground, but featured a nearly 2000 foot long tunnel in a mountain that could house up to 7 submarines in a channel looping from two entrances to open water. The entrances could be closed with massive caissons, and was impregnable to all but the most massive nukes. The base was never retrofitted for larger ships, so it's unknown what precisely the Russians would base there.

"This is the traffic jam that formed on the Crimean Bridge at night. The queue was 5 kilometers long. All this because the FSB agents are trembling from the threat of "terrorist acts"
