This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

Reminds me of a position my dogs would take if they had sausages and someone came at them.

“Later, he even asked to turn on romance movies for him in Korean,”

I would have asked: "Is that code word for..." and winked at him.

This popped up in the feed and it is a great photo. German engineers scramble to understand the secrets of the T34. Despite secretly training in Russia before the war, the Germans had no idea that the superb T34 existed. Upgraded throughout WW2 it was arguably the best tank of the war though many would vote for the German Panther that was built to defeat the T34.

Vladimir Putin has said he is ready to discuss the war in Ukraine with Donald Trump and suggested it would be a good idea for them to meet.

In his first comments since Trump issued threats to inflict economic damage on Russia if it failed to end the war in Ukraine, Putin struck a favourable tone towards the US president.

sounds like this could actually be the beginning of the end. I have no idea how or what terms will be negotiated but I imagine Ukraine will have to give up some of its land.

Ukrainians still have some of the Kursk region in Russia so they do have something to bargain with.
But yeah, they’ll have to give up some land for a deal.

I don’t think either is ready for a deal that’s palatable to both at the moment.

I also think at play, knowing both the US military and NATO military has known this scenario was likely, is how much has been stockpiled and how much is Europe resolved to see Putin and Russia not let off the hook, which I think they seemingly are showing resolve to do. Also how close is Russia’s tipping point economically and militarily.

I predict the fight goes on without US aid because there is resolve in NATO, Russia has major cracks, and Ukraine is pissed and sees a scenario they get all land back still.

I think you under estimate how exhausted the Ukrainians are but hope you’re right.

A meeting should be between Trump, Putin, and Ukraine President. Anything less is stall tactic.

Serious about what? That’s what the guardian is reporting.
Its all a freaking joke by Trump and Russia. Are all the Nazi's in Ukraine wiped out? Is Russia going to say, ok its time to go home. Is Trump going to say to Ukraine, give half of your lands to Russia?

I have no idea where you land on this, but judging by a few posts, it appears you think this is a joke as well. Thank god its not your house and property they are saying hmm. . . we are ok if we give that to Russia.

And it is Europe that is at stake, not the US. Unless trump is going to help Ukraine defeat the Russians he should let western Europe take the lead in negotiations along with Ukraine.

Russia doesn’t deserve an inch of Ukrainian land but reality is reality.
Any deal is most likely gonna end up with Ukraine losing some territory.

The question is what does Russia give in terms of security guarantees? Their word is meaningless. There either needs to be a significant neutral military force established between them or NATO membership.
Anything less is akin to a cease fire that will break at any second. Israel/Palestine.
I’m not sure what country would be acceptable to both sides. First it can’t be anyone closely aligned with either party. Secondly they must be strong enough for Russia not to **** with.

Security guarantees are going to have to come from the west as Russia can’t be trusted.
Once the war is over help Ukraine rebuild and continue to arm them. If th EU wants them as a member so much the better. Even without NATO membership doing those things will make Russia reluctant to have another go…

Well I can’t see anyone strong enough to deter Russia that isn’t from the West anyways.
