This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

She's correct....

The European Union’s foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, expressed surprise that Hegseth and Trump had listed what appeared to be concessions to Russia even before talks have begun in earnest.

“We shouldn’t take anything off the table before the negotiations have even started, because it plays to Russia’s court,” she said. “Why are we giving them everything that they want even before the negotiations have been started? It’s appeasement. It has never worked.”
Trump is Chamberlin, but with shittier motives.

Why did the Biden administration just let 7 UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters worth 50 million taxpayers dollars languish in Uzbekistan?

Thank you President Trump for getting them back?
When did we get them back? Biden didn't hand over Afghanistan to the Taliban, ICYMI.

Ukrainian lead negotiator (at this point) Davyd Arakhamia stated in an interview on 24 November 2023 that the neutral status of Ukraine was the key Russian demand during the negotiations and that the western countries were aware of the negotiations and advised Ukraine not to rely on security guarantees.

Arahamia's direct speech: "They really hoped almost until the last that they would pressure us into signing such an agreement so that we would accept neutrality. This was the biggest thing for them. They were ready to end the war if we accepted – like Finland once did – neutrality and gave a commitment that we would not join NATO. In fact, the key point was this. Everything else is cosmetic and political "seasonings" about denazification, the Russian-speaking population, and blah-blah-blah."

You left out the part about not relying on any security guarantees from Russians.

I think Russia has been depleted enough that Ukraine could still win without US support.

What I’ve heard from Trump is a "Fvck No" for Zelensky in terms of ending the war.
You can't reward aggression.

Ukraine with the help of Europe can outlast Putin/Trump
A freezing of the lines and a couple year pause in the conflict might actually put Ukraine in a better position to get their land back.

A lot of "if's involved in that scenario.

IF Ukraine can actually build an Air Force in the interim that'd change a lot of things.

IF they keep getting supplied with Western weapons and can build up stocks of munitions.

IF they get international support rebuilding their economy (Russia ain't gonna get much support in that regard and any support they do get will go into the pockets of the Putin and the Oligarchs)

I'd bet on Ukraine doing a much better job in reorganizing their armed forces, implementing "lessons learned" and coming out the other end a much more lethal fighting force than Russia.

There'd also be much more motivation and a "just cause" to rally around. The Russians will still be the same corrupt/inept organization they were at the start of the war. They'll also be recovering from the economic ramifications of the war. If they were a "paper tiger" before the war I don't see much changing afterwards.

Just trying to find a possible upside to this.
