I don't think that's the point of the post. I think the point is... we've all had this idea in our heads of the mighty Russian army and... it turns out they kind of suck. Nuclear threat is all they have and the whole world is realizing that now. *If* they end up taking Ukraine.. it's not like they're going to push into the rest of Europe, they just don't have it.
Know what else they're worried about?
Auto companies phasing out ICE vehicles over the next decade. Which is about the timeframe those leases would start paying out.
This is what pisses me off. We just all decided that Ukrainians lives are worth the cost for us to enjoy our western privilege. We claim to be a beacon of hope for the world yet sit back idly while a young democratic society gets whacked for just wanting that. It’s disgusting. Yes, I know possible outcomes. No I’m not advocating for ground troops. But we could do more and stop dicking around with the “we won’t get involved” talk.

Ukrainians have almost four and a half million weapons at their homes, million three hundred thousand of which is legal, according to the applicable law. The rest, over three million weapons, are illegal, not registered, bought on the black market or brought from Donbas. The Ukrainian Parliament is still delaying the procedure of the act on the right to keep and bear arms.

I think they are.. their economy is going to be sent back to the stone age the longer they keep this shit up. I understand the emotional reaction to what is going on... but I'm in agreement with the strategy so far.
If we're going to be world police and base everything on emotion and ethics, we would be in a constant state of war with multiple countries, including ourselves in some circumstances.
We're dealing with someone who has enough nuclear firepower to **** up the entire planet... I hate that Ukraine is in this position, and we should support them in any way we possibly can. With the sanctions and all the supplies being sent to them... I think they're going to win this ****ing thing and be the heroes of the world. I'm rarely optimistic, but I think they got this.
