This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

The hardest part of this might be finding a graceful exit for Putin to avoid having him publicly embarrassed.
It really is. I truly think he had no idea how bad his military is and is humiliated and realizing he holds no cards. Maybe we can buy him an island to live his last few months/years on quietly and dream about his Russian empire?

"Buy"?

No. Happy to set him up in a tent on one of the Aleutians. We can airlift a few polar bears in to keep him company.

well, yeah, but it is the fact of the offer, rather than its terms, that is the more important thing from which inferences should be drawn.
Oh, I absolutely get that. It's "We're getting our asses kicked so give us all that stuff and we'll quit".

The questions from the Ukrainians are 1) when will your troops leave? and 2) WTF should we agree to this when we're kicking your ass?

I may have missed it so apologies if that is the case, but I'm concerned about the nuclear plants coming under Russian control.

I'm actually not concerned for the sake of nuclear safety; I'm concerned that they're basically bargaining chips/hostages in the end game of it all.

Nat disappears (may he RIP in peace) and now we get this guy. I guess the bench for Russian internet trolls is as sparse as their military.
Much like Multiplicity, they get stupider with every subsequent copy. Lil' Jo-Jo here is this:

Putin is slowly coming to the realization that his plan was shit. He still thinks some of his own lies, but that will change over time too.

A refreshingly honest take via BBC:

UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss says the West "didn't act early enough or decisively enough" in response to Russian President Vladimir Putin's build-up of troops on the border with Ukraine.

"The reality is President Putin did not take the threats of deterrence seriously enough," she told MPs.

With the invasion of Ukraine, Truss said Russia had "shattered the security architecture of Europe".

"What we have to do now is we have to strengthen Nato, we particularly have to strengthen the eastern flank," she told the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee on Monday.

"We have already deployed more troops into Estonia, but there is more to do. We have to be serious about defence spending, right across Nato."

The more hemmed in he feels he is, that more dangerous he will be. If he cannot be completely destroyed, he needs to have an exit.

LMAO. You may want to research her.

I just want to see the Klitschko's survive this, find two random Russian field commanders, and just beat the living shit out of them until they are dead.
If you want to know how brainwashed some people are, I suggested on Disqus that Putin fight Klitschko one-on-one for Ukraine.

Somebody responded that Putin would win because he had KGB training.

It would be interesting if China started eyeing some real estate in eastern Russia right about now. That would be an easier get than Taiwan. They have lain claim to Vladivostok in their state-run media as late as 2020 and one of their diplomats was calling Vladivostok by it's old Chinese name of Haishenwai. Maybe the Chinese could say it was being run by Nazis.

Putin is in fact a badass (not just training but involvement in development of Russian hand/hand tactics), but at 65, he ain't beating either of the Klitschko's.

While there are plenty of things to like and dislike about politicians, she is the current foreign minister of her country, addressing her country's legislature. Not exactly a frivolous context, or a frivolous comment.
By making it political and somehow blaming Biden ? And saying such things as has "shattered the security architecture of Europe" when it has brought together NATO like nothing has in my lifetime? LOL.

She is no different then some of the GOP grifters in US suddenly acting like all along they have been tough on Russia and Putin and it is Biden's fault.
