It would not be surprising, but I have a hard time believing it is material or that it is quite like what you may be thinking of when you and I think of nazis. There is a long history in that part of the world from wwii (including as it happens some relatives I didn't know I had until after the wall came down) of collaborators who fought against the russians on the side of the nazi's. Xolodomor produced some long memories.
Beyond that, the terms nazi's is an absolute dog whistle to the russian ear, even today. understandably so, given russian losses in wwii -- I've visited the petersburg mass graves, and it takes your breath away. But consider the source of reports referencing nazi's in the context of this agreement
Which is why Putin’s whole reason to go to war used Nazi’s as the excuse.

I would compare them to the Three Percenters or other extremist/neo-nazi types in our military and law enforcement. A few hundred are there, but that doesn't make the whole country or 150k man military that way. Remember Ukraine has been at war with Russia's separatist/infiltrator proxies since 2014. Imagine if the US was invaded and at war for 8 years, would you stop the Proud Boys from fighting the invaders?

I get it, it makes sense. It just makes the water even more muddy. We look at Putin as this authoritarian asshole, which he is, and the Ukrainians are kinda the media darlings right now but I think if all the facts were known there are many things we as westerns would scoff at.
