There’s a reason why they’re just media and not highly educated diplomats, advisors etc. most people I’ve associated with who are in the media, are very in touch with the emotional side and make decisions based on that. Their whole livelihood depends upon appealing to people’s emotions in order to gain clicks or grabbing their attention.
I can understand the urge to intervene, but the best decisions are often the most agonizing.

What is insane about stating how many civilians the United States has killed in it short history? Killing civilians is a war crime and those should be held accountable.

Making the decision to fire bomb cities such as Tokyo and Yokohama due to the nature of the Japanese armament industry is a little different that specifically targeting civilians for reasons of terror and subjugating dissenters. Bombing German cities was necessary to bring an end to war production and is a bit different than what’s going on in Ukraine and you should be able to make those distinctions.

Japan was like an unruly dog biting neighborhood kids that needed to be put down because it wouldn't stop trying to bite people to the end. We did exactly that and unfortunately had to use the A bombs to finish them off because they were going to go down fighting until they had nothing left. It still blows my mind that people argue the bombs were horrible atrocities compared to what would have happened if we were forced to invade Japan to end the war. It sucked that we had to use the bombs, but they saved 100,000s if not millions of lives. Now, almost 80 years later and Japan is still militarily castrated to the point where they are no risk to the rest of the world. Ukraine was pretty much the exact opposite of Japan as they were being attacked by Russia repeatedly and was peaceful with everyone else.
I wonder if Russia will have to be put into the same place that Japan and Germany were put in until they fall in line with the rest of the world that they neighbor. Not from the sense of using nukes against them, but rather from the sense of gutting their military to the point where they rely on other countries for defense.
I suppose I would add that times change, as does what is acceptable. Precision guided munitions were not invented yet. "Overkill" was built into tactics to make sure what you were trying to accomplish was within the margin of error. Many tactics used by every country in the world during WW2 would be war crimes today given the technology now available to reduce collateral damage and casualties. But that does not make them war crimes when they occurred.
Not dropping the bombs on Japan and invading the country would have been a war crime in my mind, knowing we had access to weapons that would have ended the war.

Russia was part of the USSR that was a victor in WW2. They absolutely did not face any repercussions for their government’s outlandish criminal actions between 1922-1991.

Quit moving the lines. You stated that US was more violent in civilian deaths than Japan. Japan even sent over balloon bombs that hit NW US. Do you realize what they did to Chinese, Korea, Philippine civilians. You need an education.
I still think the 2nd Iraq war was fueled by poor intelligence and a desire to seek revenge for 9/11. I really don’t blame the people in those regions for harboring the feelings they have against us.
On the bright side, our military learned a lot of valuable lessons (I assume) and it’s become clear over the years that the NATO doctrine, training and equipment has proven to be superior to anything China or the former Warsaw Pact nations have exhibited. That’s probably worth something on a grander scale.
