This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

And near Kherson it becomes more and more interesting

He’s just clowning Putin. Somewhere about a hundred pages ago I posted a thread from the Russia scholar who writes the really long Twitter threads on Russian history, about how this guy has played Putin like a fiddle.

Of course everything helps from France, Germany, etc, but so long as Eastern Europe, us, and the Brits are on board, and of course Ukraine wants to continue, this will continue.

It’s not an accident that Boris J was in Kyiv the very next day after The Putin Three visited. He knew they were there to talk surrender. He showed up in person with the message that we are with you and F those three because a phone call wouldn’t have carried the same weight.

Weird how I'd pointed out to you how Republicans would jump off the bus a few hundred pages ago, and you (and others) denied it.

That's who will be leading the charge here...
Not sure how that correlates to the article, or if it really fits with the spirit of this thread. If support wanes in the US, let’s deal with it then.

I’m thinking there’s a lot of tacit approval for ending this….

Don’t see US policy shifting publicly but behind the scenes…

The article is sourcing a European poll.

It’s European support that’s wavering.

Ukraine should be growing stronger and stronger. No way the West should allow Putin to end it before Russia reaps the whirlwind.

If you don't face up to it, it will happen and you'll be too late to do anything about it.

Republicans in DC have been on board with UKR because public opinion was so strong in support of UKR. That was because the Ukrainians are so masterful with social media. If support among the people here starts to wane, I think we will see their social media army put on a clinic and quickly rebuild any lost support.

Oh, I suspect you'll have folks from all sides getting 'Ukraine fatigue'.
But it will be Tucker Carlson and his buds driving the train on the propaganda.

Tucker has been bad mouthing any support for Ukraine from the start. He has been completely ineffective mostly because the messaging from everyone on the pro-Ukrainian side has been so strong.

I don’t think Carlson is very big in Europe Joe.

The administration blaming the war for Inflation/gas prices is all the “propaganda” needed for support to start to wane in the US.

Just wait until we have “Putins Recession”

About a year ago Putin sent soldiers into Belarus to prop up Lukashenko. Now Lukashenko is leaving Vlad hanging. Vlad has his hand out for a big high 5 and he is getting nothing. Lukashenko knows he falls if he lets his men die in Ukraine.

Good assessment. He’s not eager to get his military’s ass kicked

Might pull a Mussolini and jump in if it looks like the Russians are on the verge of winning though.,…doubtful to say the least

Did you read the article, or are you just trying to shoehorn your daily quota of political bs into the forum regardless of how misplaced it is?

For a brutal dictator, he’s occasionally amusing. Does anyone have the video of him with the porn stars?

Good take. And you add that to what the president of Kazakhstan said yesterday about not acknowledging independent states of Ukraine in same room as Putin and it suggests that very rapidly Putin’s standing as a person to be feared and appeased is in collapse. Almost to a point they know the end is nearing for his reign. We can hope.
