This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

We recently read where there was a daily "NATO" flight into and out of Pakistan and this is what people were guessing. I hope the flooding will not affect this supply line.

All I know is my very limited wisdom to be passed to my children will be modified from "don't mess with a wrestler in a bar, or really anywhere" to "don't mess with a wrestler, or a Ukrainian..."
They should put that on all freshman orientation literature. If you see a wrestler at a bar, walk the other way. Nothing good will come of it.

Looks like we may have to cut LNG exports to Europe.

A superspike in gas prices in the U.S. will be really bad news, and not just for the U.S. itself. Europe literally depends on American liquefied gas as it seeks to sever all trade ties with Russia.

But if gas prices rise too high in the U.S., export curbs may be in order as gas is still widely used in the U.S. for electricity generation, and no one wants voters with sky-high electricity bills ahead of the November midterms. And this means Europe will be left in the ditch with not enough gas to last it through winter. For prices, the sky will be the limit.

There is still a little time to ramp up some production, to cajole foreign producers, to plan for lower usage, and restore some alternate production capacity. We will also see richer nations outbid poorer nations for fuel.
We are horribly wasteful with energy. Start there.

I think this angle shows a hit on the attempted pontoon bridge.

Even better video.

I think it's going to be a major problem regardless. I agree we need to do what we can to mitigate it....

I obviously don't agree with the sentiment unless these are Russians. It is great footage if real and not something like training.

Glad the Chechens like to record things assuming these locations are vague enough not to be targeted.

One can hope...

MYKOLAIV, Ukraine/KYIV, Aug 30 (Reuters) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has urged Russian soldiers to flee for their lives after his forces launched an offensive to retake southern Ukraine, but Moscow said it had repulsed the attack and inflicted heavy losses on Kyiv's troops.
