This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

So, is Russia just in the survive and somewhat retreat/regroup mode? I don't see how this is sustainable on many levels, particularly with winter coming.
Russia is getting punked right now. Ukraine will take everything west of the river. Then it becomes difficult. The logistical benefit of the river will be a logistical challenge in retaking the rest of Ukraine. Europe is hoping Ukraine can win this war by early winter.

Maybe trade far East Ukraine for taking back Crimea?

The eastern part of Ukraine has massive amounts of Natural Gas. Essentially enough to cover all of Europes needs. This isn't a stated strategy, but part of the reason to win the war is to get energy set up from Ukraine. There is a pipeline already for the taking in Ukraine :).

assuming the above is true, how very interesting that both (russia and eu) sides skirt this topic entirely...
if it's been reported before, i was unaware...

I'm pretty sure this is supposed to say Ukraine offers Russians the chance to surrender.

"Ukraine PsyOps:
😂
Armed forces of Ukraine offer to surrender to Russian soldiers! Details: “Russian Ivan, surrender. Here you will find warm food & vodka. We will protect you from the Kremlin”!

"The programmable guidance system allows the gun crew to set the Excalibur to land on a specific geographic location, allowing frontline troops calling-in fire missions to specific high-priority targets to be destroyed by a single shell. In addition to its GPS guidance the Excalibur also has inertial guidance. It allows the shell to maintain its ballistic arc, even when GPS signal is unavailable for any reason. This gives the shell some guidance capability when GPS is unusable altogether. Though in this case the shell won't be as accurate. The Excalibur is resistant to GPS jamming."

That is frankly pretty terrifying.

Here is an AP story about the transfer of munitions from NK to Russia, which is being vigorously denied by Russia. There are doubts about the quality of the NK munitions, and how quickly they can move them to Russia. The story also details that instead of currency, the NKs may want food, fuel, and technology in return. Food seems doubtful as Fatty Un doesn’t care if his people starve. Fuel? Maybe. Technology is the scary one. The NKs might be asking for technology needed to do nuclear tests. Is Russia desperate enough to pass nuclear assets?

Yes, they are. But what has NK seen that would make them say "you know, that Russia seems to be doing swell. Let's be like them."

Today a high level member of the Russian parliament spoke of holding referendums on 11/4 in the liberated areas over joining Russia. I assume that is part of the end game. The Russians have moved out vast numbers of people, either to other parts of Ukraine, to other parts of Europe, or to God knows where in Russia. They will use sham referendums to claim a partial victory.
