This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

I think Musk has a point here, but going to Twitter to cry about is is not the appropriate, or professional response. If Musk had some friends in Congress he could start putting pressure on them to help offset the costs SpaceX is incurring. If that doesn't work, there are other ways of getting the word out without sounding like a petulant child. Most people would support proper funding if he just wasn't such a bitch about it.

My my my how the tables have turned.

America / Biden must have leaned on them.

Made them an offer they couldnt refuse, as it were.

They don't want to look like they are supporting Russia with their oil move. They are clearly trying to influence the midterm elections in the US and now they can talk about the money they gave to Ukraine when people say they are helping Russia out.

Crazy how the party of Ronald Reagan is presently rooted for by Russia and Saudi Arabia

Nah, he’s arguing in the court of public opinion. That will put a lot more pressure on the government.

Here ya go.
Just for some context.

The article states that “readiness” rates in some units are at 50%.

In the US Air Force we called this “mission capable rate”

The way we computed that was aircraft that were down because they were broke or had scheduled maintenance being done. If we fell below 80% leadership was taking a lot of heat and had better have good reasons for it. Maintenance folks working 24/7 to get the rate back up. Worst I saw was around 70%.

Anyway…50% is absolutely horrendous

Would be pretty terrible business to not utilize your assets for exposure/pressure wouldn't it?

Did you ever consider painting a broomstick white and trying to pass it off as a Sidewinder?

The German army has faced a shortage of equipment for years, but the situation has recently become so precarious that some soldiers took matters into their own hands.
On Tuesday [2015],German broadcaster ARD revealed that German soldiers tried to hide the lack of arms by replacing heavy machine guns with broomsticks during a NATO exercise last year. After painting the wooden sticks black, the German soldiers swiftly attached them to the top of armored vehicles, according to a confidential army report which was leaked to ARD.

He's trying to argue to the court of public opinion, maybe. From what I can tell, most people are not impressed and he is not going to get the result he is hoping for. Certainly not enough to get anyone to move on this. It's not like he has a reputation for being level headed and reasonable in the first place.
