This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

Maybe the Russian attacks on infrastructure?

I hope so. Seems like when a new phase occurs where Russia is causing a new problem, we give Ukraine a new tool for its bat belt. If it takes to long to get radars and enough AAA up and going, maybe we are giving them longer range missiles to hit stockpiles of the Iranian drones, but doing it in very limited and specific ways to ensure they don’t fire them into Russia?

other comments suggest nukes, others suggest a story that former British pilots have been hired by china to train them how to defeat western radar and defenses.

Gonna be a difficult winter for Ukrainians :(

Could be a year where many Ukrainians will need to stay in mass shelters to save energy of heating individual homes. That is based on nothing I read just a thought I had.

Probably need to include a tranche of industrial emergency generators for Ukraine. Something like the below...puts out 1 Megawatt and runs off LNG. Could provide power for critical infrastructure.

Kind of seems like the Russians are adapting.

Going all in on attacking Ukraine's infrastructure with the Iranian drones and whatever they have left in the cruise missile arsenal. Making demonstrations in Belarus...

Seems like they're trying to make the Ukrainians spread their assets to defend against these threats and make it to the winter pause. Ukraine asking for more air defense assets would indicate they're being stretched.

You do realize attacking civilian highrise office and residential targets, civilian water plants, and civilian energy infrastructure with the simple goal of causing terror and causing civilians to die of exposure or lack of drinkable water are war crimes. So it does not seem as much adapting but just more Russia deciding to rather go all in with being a genocidal terrorist state. They are embarrassed and mad. I don’t think they care about Belarus.

This feels like a race. Russia upping attacks on infrastructure and UA trying to complete the next big offensive. If UA can celebrate some more significant battlefield successes it will keep morale of civilian population up and able to endure the attacks on infrastructure.

Not sure what the rest of the world needs to see before we stop buying Russian oil and helping Russias genocidal land grab.

It will be interesting to see how the world deals with Russia. They are massive problem for every person on planet due to the threat of nukes. I would not do business with any country who does business with them including India and China until regime change.

Of course I realize that.

Just saying that if Russia's objective is to disperse Ukrainian assets to defend against thoise attacks it seems to be working. I just think Russia's objective right now is to make it to the winter "pause" and limit Ukrainian gains till then.

It's not like Russia wasn't committing war crimes before now...it just seems like those war crimes are linked to a tangible objective now. Kind of surprised they weren't attacking infrastructure from the get go.

"Train traffic was halted in the Belgorod region of Russia and there were power outages in the Kursk region.

Source: Latvian-based Russian news outlet Meduza

Details: The governor of Belgorod Oblast, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that train traffic was temporarily stopped because of the shelling of a railway station in one of the villages of the Belgorod district.

As a result of the incident, the network of railway tracks was allegedly damaged.

Emergency crews are clearing the consequences of the shelling. There was one victim - a man with shrapnel wounds to his legs, the official wrote on Telegram.

Meanwhile, the governor of the neighbouring Kursk Oblast, Roman Startovoit, announced that the villages of Tyotkino and of Popovo-Lezhachi, along the Ukrainian border, had been shelled. They blame the Armed Forces of Ukraine."

Wife of Kremlin spokesman spotted vacationing in Tel Aviv, NGO claims

Israeli Friends of Ukraine says it is 'absurd' that Tatiana Navka wife of Russian propagandist is allowed in for private vacation, while 'Israel makes it difficult for Ukrainian refugees to enter'; Foreign Ministry 'not familiar' with issue

The wife of Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was spotted vacationing in Israel despite sanctions imposed on the family by the West, a pro-Ukrainian NGO said Tuesday.
According to Israeli Friends of Ukraine, the former Russian ice dancer and 2006 Olympic champion Tatiana Navka spent the last few days at the David Hotel Kempinski in Tel Aviv.

That's just it, that is not their actual goal. It is having zero impact on the actual war front. It's not dispersing them. It's causing terror and impacting innocent civilians. The reason they had not done this to this level before is because it is such an obvious war crime. The occasional "accidental" civilian targets and targeted utility infrastructure targets due to military objective can be done and were done before. But they abandoned all pretense for these reasons and are 100% just war crimes and it is proof they are a 100% now terrorist state. The objective is terror and retribution mass killing of citizens, not dispersing Ukrainian assets on the front. It's hoping to kill as many innocent people as possible as both retribution for THEIR mistakes and somehow get Ukraine to concede. It will only harden their hearts to never give up. The Belarus tactic was, though it did not work because all know they wont launch in offensive.
