I was...unprepared for the onslaught of emotions I felt at the end of match 2.

Agreed. He’s been a bit of a prat for the last few years but he has seemed to mature. I wish him the best in the future whatever that future looks like.Agreed. Just when I thought I was done with him, he sucks me back in.
Once a Hawk always a Hawk for me. Good luck in your next chapter of life TPG.
Nothing but class all around, from what I have seen. No shoes or anything if that's what you meanDid anything in particular happen after the match?
Technically still not an Olympian, still has to qualify the weight for USA. Regardless, awesome performance and am confident he will qualify the weight and win 🥇
What a way to celebrate the anniversary.
They are having a non Olympic weight championships this year. I think the US spot qualification takes place in a month or so.Not sure why people are jumping to the conclusion that Gilman is done.
I doubt he does another Olympic cycle, he is 29 after all, but I can see him making a run and challenging Vito at 61kg next year.
Because in his interview yesterday he said he was not sure if he was going compete at the trials or continue to compete at all. continueNot sure why people are jumping to the conclusion that Gilman is done.

I believe in 2021 they still had world championships for Olympic weights and Gilman won his gold. Maybe that was just because it was 2021 and not 2020. The previous cycle I think it was just non-Olympic weights where Steiber got his. That’s said, my memory is not what it once was so anyone feel free to clarify/correct me.They are having a non Olympic weight championships this year. I get it, I listened to it too, but I'm not jumping to conclusions. Same boat as JB.Because in his interview yesterday he said he was not sure if he was going compete at the trials or continue to compete at all. continue
Agreed, I also think the shoes on the mat thing is not for everyoneI get it, I listened to it too, but I'm not jumping to conclusions. Same boat as JB.
Not to mention he is still on USA’s national team and if something happened to Spencer from now until the qualifier, he is next man in.Agreed, I also think the shoes on the mat thing is not for everyone
True and Don’t forget the next Hawkeye to sign, Blaze! Not to mention he is still on USA’s national team and if something happened to Spencer from now until the qualifier, he is next man in.
This. He was rather loud about PSU beating us in the dual this year....Not going to throw a pity party for him unless he stops bragging about Penn States success on social media
And he was tweeting like a PSU fanboy throughout the entire NCAA tournament.This. He was rather loud about PSU beating us in the dual this year....
He’s loyal to the team he’s on. He’s in the room with those guys every day of course he’s going to cheer them on.And he was tweeting like a PSU fanboy throughout the entire NCAA tournament.
I’m glad he showed a lot of humility and respect this weekend, but it’s going to take more than that for him to suck me back into being a fan of his.
