To me it’s a combo. America has always glorified the gun. Settling the West. Every decent action movie is full of gun play. It’s become a pop culture icon.
Also we used to lock up our severally mentally ill as well. Now we either dump them in prisons or on the street. Add that with the amount of guns now in circulation 400 plus million. It’s all a bad cocktail of circumstances.

Based on those numbers alone, the population of Americans killed in mass shootings is trivial, especially when you add the total number of now deceased Americans who were alive at some point in that time interval. School shootings are emotionally trying, but they do not justify any further restrictions on our 2A rights.

I have made some super obvious sarcasms recently that have been absolutely lost on some of these non-simple posters.
I don't have all the answers. I do know that incentivizing mothers to rely on the government as their father figure is not the answer. I do know taking religion out of mainstream culture is not the answer.

What causes shootings:
Guns, that fvcking thing just goes off now days. Used to be able to take it to school and nothing would happen. Now you take one to school and the damn thing starts shooting people.

I used to walk to school 6 miles uphill both ways carrying my trusty shotgun rifle.

Yeah, I was afraid I would get in trouble by my parents if I did a mass shooting.
This happened at a Christian school. Religion is not out of mainstream culture. America has become more Libertarian just not as Puritan.
If only these school shooters had the same rules. Then again, maybe that’s why some kill themselves so they don’t have to face mom and dad.
