Tim Walz’ record in Minnesota

He reminds me of this guy.

You have omitted (intentionally or not) that 60 - 80 state troopers were called one day after the riots began. In hindsight it's obvious now that that wasn't going to be enough and that's on Walz. But who knew this was to escalate as quickly and widely as it did? Did you?

On May 26, 2020 it was clear that law enforcement was outnumbered. They couldn't respond to all of the 911 calls related to the looting and arson that was occurring.

May 27, 2020: looting and arson continues.

On May 28, 2020, Walz finally called up the National Guard.

So now the Speaker of the House isn’t responsible for the National Guard?

This right here is going to cost you some of the rust belt:

Most notably, in 2023, Mr. Walz signed a law requiring Minnesota to generate all of its electricity from wind, solar and other carbon-free sources by 2040, eliminating the climate-warming pollution generated by coal and gas-fired power plants. That law came in the midst of a legislative session in which Minnesota Democrats, working with Governor Walz, pushed through nearly 40 other climate initiatives. In June, he signed a law designed to speed the implementation of the 2040 clean power mandate
Because the rust belt loves fracking and coal mining more than Jesus?

With a one seat majority. Badass…

- universal free school meals
- carbon free electricity by 2040
-legalized Marijuana (welcome aboard, @The Tradition )
- tax rebates for the working class up to $1,300 (making under $150k per year)
- 12 weeks paid family leave
- 12 weeks paid sick leave
- banned conversion therapy
- red flag laws for guns
- universal background checks for guns
- free public college (under $80k)
- ban on PFAS (forever chemicals)
-Became 5th ranked state for businesses
-Rose to third highest state on the happiness index.

RIP taxpayers.

Picking Walz doesn't come without risks. While his selection underscores Democrats' effort to aggressively go after Midwestern voters, he doesn't bring a specific battleground state advantage: Minnesota hasn’t gone red in a presidential race since 1972.

The pro-Trump super PAC, MAGA Inc., immediately painted Walz as "incompetent" in a statement and called him and Harris "both far-left radicals that don't know how to govern." Karoline Leavitt, the Trump campaign press secretary, called Walz a "West Coast wannabe" who has tried "to reshape Minnesota in the image of the Golden State."

Critics have reintroduced questions about his governing record. They include concerns over a delay calling in the National Guard as protests engulfed Minneapolis following the murder of George Floyd by city police officers in May 2020, as well as the fact that the biggest pandemic fraud case in the U.S. happened under his watch. MAGA Inc. hit on both items in its press release after news of the Walz pick broke.

Another presumed liability for Walz’s VP chances early on had been his role as a co-chair of the Democratic National Convention rules committee — a job that, in the chaotic days after Biden dropped out of the race, led him to help Harris quickly become the party’s presumptive nominee.

America is laughing at 3% Harris picking this clown from Minnesota, that spinning sound you hear in the background is Hubert Humphrey in his grave.

Come on, man. He's really under your skin.

Ignorant dumb asses like Menace don't get under my skin.

What's interesting, however, is Menace lies and shows complete ignorance on issues and none of you liberals will call him out on it. Why is that? It's very cult like behavior.

This echo chamber is interesting, to say the least.

American Experiment is a conservative think tank. They are taking very specific timeframes and extrapolating a whole article about fleeing from it. Like saying "From mid-2021 to mid-2022, 19,400 Minnesota residents left for other states, by far the highest number in at least three decades." Minnesota's population actually grew in 2022 and grew more in 2023. The overall data does not back that up. Minnesota's population has been growing and is projected to grow in the future, moreso than similar midwestern states like Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Illinois. https://www.pewtrusts.org/en/resear...lags-long-term-trends?pop_map_data_picker=ltg

Only for Jews.

Really though, there still seems to be worry that a Jewish candidate is too big of a risk for something like VP. I think we're past that and it may even help
It's not that he's Jewish, it's that he compared people protesting the ongoing ethnic cleansing and destruction in Gaza to the KKK. Least of his baggage electorally. He's no friend to public schools which should be disqualifying for a Democrat. He also does a seemingly very intentional Obama impression (kinda like Mayor Pete) which rubs people the wrong way once they see it. The main reason he was in consideration was to help win PA.

He appears competent....this will not stand!

Really, though, I would have preferred Shapiro as a big F U to the far left morons in the Dem party. It would have been gold watching the Magats and the far left Dems twist themselves up in knots trying to hate on him.

Hate on him for calling people "KKK" for being opposed to ethnic cleansing and total destruction of Gaza? Who has to twist themselves up into knots criticizing that? How about his right wing ideas for education policy that have basically been proven a failure where they've been tried? You don't find the Obama impersonation he and Pete Buttigieg do to be a bit pandering and off-putting? The only reason he was in consideration was that he's a swing state governor (oh and that he's a white guy and this VP pick was always going to be a DEI hire)

This is a ridiculous take. There is a lot of room between “gun down protestors” and “sit back and do nothing for several days while bad actors riot, loot, and set fire to buildings.”
You're right. But that is not what the voices on the right were calling for when it was happening.
