Yeah, I looked at the Iowa schedule at the beginning of the season and actually thought that the Hawkeyes had a legit shot at a one-loss season - OSU being the lone loss. 6-4 (5-3 in the B1G) is kind of shocking. Sure never expected those results

Not happy about the loss, or those games BUT are you saying that MSU (given their mess with the previous coach) or UCLA given how bad they've been for sometime REALLY had a choice? Taking the visuals of a more fun offense to watch aside, would UCLA, MSU, or hell even Indiana have moved on from last years staff had they won 10 games last year or averaged about 9 wins over the last decade? WE all know they would not have, and yet people think that Iowa should have. The only team I know of thats stupid enough to do that (other then some blue bloods) is Nebraska. Enough said right there. Teams that win 9 or 10 games don't fire their coaches. How this season ends and next year will probably usher the end of Kirks time at Iowa one way or the other, unless he pulls out some magic next season, but the time is near...We’ve looked bad losing two straight road games to 2 programs that burned it down and started from scratch last winter. Maybe we’re doing it wrong….
Sounds awfully “Nebraska-ish” to me…”Fan apathy” is not a coaching responsibility… it’s a lame excuse from the fan base. This program is over due for a change . No urgency to win, recruiting stinks , fan apathy has still in . . Is it wrong to expect more ?
Kirk keeps padding his most losses record. So sick of that record too and it doesn't mean sh*t. Hayes had 3 NC, 13 Big Ten championships, eight Rose Bowls. Ferentz has nothing to compare. When I hear Ferentz being referred to as being a legendary coach, I am embarrassed as a Hawkeye fan.
Lame.? Hardly that . what’s wrong with wanting more ? So you’re happy with this product on the field ? I’m not I want what the top teams are doing. playing in the big games against the best . If you think playing in the mayonnaise bowl is ok so be it .Sounds awfully “Nebraska-ish” to me…”Fan apathy” is not a coaching responsibility… it’s a lame excuse from the fan base.
I didn’t say I’m “happy”… I said that “fan apathy” is NOT a coaching problem… it is a fan base issue.Lame.? Hardly that . what’s wrong with wanting more ? Kirk is 69. I'll lmao if he's coaching Iowa "into his 80's".KF looks like a very healthy sob; easily could do the job into his 80s from a physical stamina standpoint.
I would too, shoot, what a deal if he was the Iowa head coach when I began college at Iowa and still the head coach when I retire in 10-15 years. HilariousKirk is 69. I'll lmao if he's coaching Iowa "into his 80's".
Goddamn that makes me happy 😃 NOTIt’s not happening
KF has probably 4-5 bad years left in him
Iowa fans have been happy with KF and the defensive and special teams results just not on the offensive side of the ball. Not happy about the loss, or those games BUT are you saying that MSU (given their mess with the previous coach) or UCLA given how bad they've been for sometime REALLY had a choice? I was at the game—at least 65-70% of butts in seats had Hawkeye gear on. In spite of how disappointed we all are with the KF regime and how we’re playing, I’d say fan support is amazing. You wouldn’t say there’s fan apathy if you were there. This program is over due for a change . No urgency to win, recruiting stinks , fan apathy has still in . . Is it wrong to expect more ?
Once again, I NEVER said it wasn't time to make a change. The post I responded to said, "that these two programs "burnt it down ad started over". My point was of course they did, because the two teams he referenced had no other choice. One school the coach had such a scandal (Tucker) they had to run him and the other hadn't done shit in over 50 years. Thats hardly the same case as Iowa where we've been winning 9 games a year some times more, and NONE of these second level schools would have fired their coach given that record. NONE. Now this year and next may in fact bring an end to Kirks tenure, but none of these schools, (save OSU or Michigan) would have fired him at this point. To say otherwise is disingenuous..Iowa fans have been happy with KF and the defensive and special teams results just not on the offensive side of the ball.
He is too risk averse for today’s game that Iowa is losing and will continue to do so until Lester gets his guys in the program at QB and WR…3 star to close to four star guys that are missed by the big time programs but are still athletes. He either adapts or needs to retire in my view. Let someone younger take over and run the show in Wallace or Woods. If that doesn’t work, bring in an outside coach to rework the entire program. KF is paid $7 mil to be the CEO of Iowa Football and needs to make the necessary changes where warranted but he didn’t do it and his hand forced last year by others to make that change for him. That’s not the guy I want running Iowa Football if he isn’t willing to make an honest assessment followed by the necessary changes to make the program the best it can be.
Cade was the chosen starter by Kirk. He gave us the best chance to win according to Kirk. Guess what, Cades not even the best backup. Sullivan is far better than Cade. Cade shouldn’t get another snap here.People conclude that 26 year coach needs to go after losing a game in which he's forced to play his 4th/5th string QB. Seriously, you can't make this shit up.
Meanwhile, not a word from the KF haters about how Sullivan just may not have been the clear choice all along. Certainly didn't look like a clear-cut starter tonight.
So many of you "fans" are nothing more than a puke
No - he should be fired for not (after 26 yrs) being able to recruit, retain, and develop better quarterbacks than we presently have. QB room has been inept for several years. And development has been non-existent. That all falls on Ferentz.People conclude that 26 year coach needs to go after losing a game in which he's forced to play his 4th/5th string QB. Seriously, you can't make this shit up.

Its the only one that matters, so it might as well be everything.KF does not hold all of the cards. He holds the contract money card and that's a lot, but not everything.
Honestly, on just on his track record, I don’t think he’s a HOF coach. He’s won 2 conference championships in 26 years. With the last one being 20 years ago. His real legacy has been having just good enough runs to keep him off the hot seat.HOF is likely gone now. 60% is going to be even tougher.
69? Holy sh&t! I thought he was at least 79.Kirk is 69. I'll lmao if he's coaching Iowa "into his 80's".
It is on this site though.I was at the game—at least 65-70% of butts in seats had Hawkeye gear on. In spite of how disappointed we all are with the KF regime and how we’re playing, I’d say fan support is amazing. You wouldn’t say there’s fan apathy if you were there.
Doesn't look a day over 80.69? Holy sh&t! I thought he was at least 79.
7-5 8-4 are you kidding 5-7 will be good in the coming decadeNo one is coming here and winning a natty. Enjoy your 7-5, 8-4
Dude is an injury waiting to happen … not big not real smartNot fair to place that judgment on Sullivan because of last night's game. He was major hurting and giving it all he had. I think if he could have remained injury free last night, Iowa wins. The 2 previous games he was very impressive.
I would say that you are not very smart. He is 220 and went to Northwestern. They don't take dummies there.Dude is an injury waiting to happen … not big not real smart
7-5 8-4 are you kidding 5-7 will be good in the coming decade
This little program will not be able to compete with the new conference money teams
OSU, Oregon, USC, PennSt, Michigan, have big $$$$$ and are using it
Uh.... No.This program is over due for a change . No urgency to win, recruiting stinks , fan apathy has still in . . Is it wrong to expect more ?
It did seem like when Sully ran the ball versus UCLA, he was too indesisive on what to do. Which direction to go, when to slide, when to run out of bounds...I would say that you are not very smart. He is 220 and went to Northwestern. They don't take dummies there.
Seems like he one national coach of the year once.Honestly, on just on his track record, I don’t think he’s a HOF coach. He’s won 2 conference championships in 26 years. With the last one being 20 years ago. His real legacy has been having just good enough runs to keep him off the hot seat.
Probably because Ferentz instilled his silly *** QB strategy and Sullivan does not rely on his instincts. It happens to every Ferentz QB and is disgusting. It did seem like when Sully ran the ball versus UCLA, he was too indesisive on what to do. Which direction to go, when to slide, when to run out of bounds...
Thus taking too many hits. And it got him hurt.
I can’t speak for OP, but my interpretation when this term is used is the same as “clean house” - get rid of everyone involved with coaching/managing the football team and replace them with people who have no previous association.OP: What exact steps are you advocating for when you say “burn it down”?
No, "delusional" might be a word to describe you guys.Dude - you’re delusional as they come
Did you say something? No, "delusional" might be a word to describe you guys.
"Burn down" what is clearly a good football program? There's a genius idea. You literally can't make this shit up.
I have 25 years of results to support what I'm saying. This isn't even a conversation. It's a joke
I'd take #40 ranked QB. Can you do the rankings on that?Nowhere in recruiting?????
Iowa Recruiting Rankings on Rivals in recent years:
2023: 27 (currently)
2022: 30
2021: 24
2020: 35
2019: 41
2018: 40
2017: 40
2016: 42
2015: 58
2014: 59
Sure looks to be trending in the right direction.
Finished in the AP top 25 in 5 of the previous 6 seasons.
Average of 8 wins a year over 25 years. How many programs can say that? Throw out the first two rebuilding years and that number jumps. Only 2 other loosing seasons besides those first two.
Yeah you can want more, but so do spoiled children. Yeah, I get frustrated at the vanilla and anemic offense but year over year, this program is built with a standard higher than most.
Yeah, I called you guys a jokeDid you say something?
6-4.No, "delusional" might be a word to describe you guys.

So you make major program personnel decisions based upon 1 season out of 26 years of data?6-4.
That'll will end up 8-4, btw6-4.
