44-23. The rest of Muscatine seems to have given up already. Not playing with much energy. Joe with 15 pts. Patrick with 9. Connor with 7. Lane with 13.

Connor McCaffery has been terrific in the 2nd half. Excellent at scoring with contact. Has 19 points (8-9 FT), floor leader.

Works out that way sometimes. Muscatine was better this year than last. Could be improved next year. West High is a very good Iowa 4-A team, 3 Division I caliber players starting. West's only losses this year are to Webster Groves (out of St. Louis), Cretin-Durham (Minneapolis) and Waterloo East).
They briefly talked about him on Sports Fanatics on the radio the other day. Said he was likely a mid or low major player. Or FB if he went hat route.
What does everyone think of Connor? If he wasnt Coach's son would you see him as B1G prospect? Just looking for honest analysis not looking to rip the kid. I have never seen him play.
I honestly have no idea, but I'll just throw in to not listen to people who base their opinion on the 4A championship last year (which everyone could see on TV). That was garbage basketball.
Conner is not a BIG difference maker in my opinion. He's not the guard we need.
Have you considered checking out any of the dozen recruiting services that have followed him for four years?
He will be better than most of the guards that are currently on our roster. That's not a difference maker?
Wieskamp is going to be one hell of a player. You could tell tonight (especially in the first half) that he was off. Not to mention I thought Connor played him pretty damn well. But like others have said, Joe had no team. He was a better passer than I was expecting, I can think of 3 different plays in the 2nd half that he set up a teammate nicely but they missed easy shots/layups. I'm not sure what to think about the McCafferys.
Hes likely not better than Moss either.
So Williams and maybe Daily who we really dont know on.

No. That was a question. Another poster said that Conner was better than every guard on our current roster. I asked if that poster thought he was better than Jok or Bohannon. He's not better than either of them, IMO.
A little good humor sometimes is a fun thing.
Ok seriously I'm looking for in Connor, a confident player that can shoot, handle the ball well and makes very few mistakes on offense or defense. That keeps his head up, knows not only where he needs to be but also knows where everyone is and where they are supposed to be. Basically in this offense the smartest player on the court for either team. I am sure the size and speed of players playing B1G basketball will have a learning curve, but the rest I think is likely already there.
Were you talking about Izaiah O-F for West? He's the only real big kid I can think of but he's not a post.
First off, Jok is gone so we are running a team out there next year without him regardless. So is Connor better than the options we have for next year?
Let's think about this for a second. Williams is terrible. Dailey couldn't beat out Williams. Brady is excellent in his limited role but not much beyond that. Connor will be better than each of those guys next year. Moss has exceptional stretches followed by baffling mistakes. Moss has great upside (and I think he will make a huge leap next year), but it wouldn't surprise if hes Connor is as good as moss next year as well.
Connor can play three positions and make open shots. I'm not saying he's some stud creator or lockdown defender. I'm just saying he's way better than what we have now, and literally every recruiting service agrees with me. A difference maker makes you team appreciably better and Connor will basically eliminate the huge drop off we have when Bohannon leaves the floor. hard to say if he will be better than Bohannon. He's not a guy that looks to score like Jordan, but he's at least his equal as a facilitator. Plus hes six inches taller and it's not like Jordan is some ninja when it comes to lateral quickness.
Our fans really piss me off sometimes.
