For all the games Iowa has played where the opposition has one guy that just magically goes off and has a career night against the Hawkeyes

it was certainly nice that for once we had a guy come out of nowhere and go off for 32 against a very good defensive team in Illinois.

You know they didn't see that coming.

I thought Mayer was going to be that guy on Saturday. Going into the Iowa game he was 16-42 in their previous three games. Of course against Iowa he ended up 7-9 (4-6 3pt), but luckily he got into foul trouble and stopped shooting.

Agreed. Illinois is a solid defensive team and a really good team overall. TP had one of the best personal performances I've seen from a player this year.
