We were close to getting him the first time.

He'd actually be good again on top. And vastly better on bottom. Hopefully Bull can bring this one in.

That’s just as foolish at the folks on the national forums saying Suriano could beat a healthy Lee now. It’s a different Suriano now. Just a terrible nonsensical take.
It really is I have heard that crap. I would probably take SL with no ACLs in that match I would defiantly take SL with one ACL. I would not take a bet that a healthy SL would hold Nicky TP to a regular decision.

Different time, different Assad.

It would also need to be a different Jordan. As even “different Assad” wasn’t a true AA and Nelson wasn’t an AA at all.

Otherwise, I’d take him but he’s not the answer we should be seeking unless he’s improved considerably.

Did anyone see tOSU this year? With the exception of Gavin Hoffman - who finally remembered he was a #10 overall recruit - they all regressed badly.

They paid complete lip service to getting better on the mat. They were so wholly deficient there it was hilarious. Rocky had an elite cross-wrist tilt and could actually ride in high school and early in his redshirt year. He could use a confidence boost that TnT would give him. Rock was R12 a year ago, beat Lautt this year and just got beat out by Swole-mero. He'd be an excellent 2 year rental, and I think an upgrade over Assad.

He literally got majored 8-0 last time he wrestled Assad lol Also it’s not like he’s been in a bad room he has Romero, hoffman, and smith all near his weight to train with and still isn’t as good as assad so idk what basis you have to think he’s an upgrade we need.

Even if he is somehow an upgrade.. it’s very marginal over Assad… no?

Congrats on beating Lautt. He’s a 174. Weird hill to die on here…

Well I think Schriever should move up to 165 and take out PK because I think he is an upgrade to PK. My “thinking” is just as grounded in reality as yours is.

This is rooted in the “shiny new toy” mentality and not based in reality or logic. How would a dude that’s NEVER beaten our current starter be an upgrade over said starter? He’d be a great guy to have in the room, as he’d be a fantastic training partner for Brands and Assad, but he’s proven not to be able to beat either one.

The same swole-mero that Assad took to SV-1? Assad is right there with these guys. needs to make improvements sure, but Why replace a guy within the program for someone who isn't, when it is definitely not a clear upgrade.

Well, if getting the guy who got majored by our guy could be considered a marginal improvement, we’re there!

PS: A marginal improvement would likely be RJ NOT getting majored by our guy. Like, just losing by regular decision. Or our guy teching him. In my estimation the chances of either marginal improvement would be almost evenly split at 83% in favor of the tech fall scenario.

The only logic that would justify him would be if there is belief RJ could improve with different coaching. Assad has been here three years and looks like he has a low ceiling.

Not the upgrade needed, imo.

Then again, no one gives a crap what I think.

I don’t think. There’s no evidence he is, other than his last name. I can’t imagine thinking someone who got beat by Isaiah Salazar would be an upgrade. Let alone his record vs our guys.

I just never thought room guys upgraded the starters skill set. Sure you need good training partners, but to elevate ones skill set requires that you train with better wrestlers. That's what a strong RTC brings to the table.
