Trump Offered To Pardon Several Prisoners If Kim Kardashian Got Football Stars To Visit White House... The players declined bwahahahaha

So the football players would rather rather the prisoners rot in jail than visit Trump.

Would be interesting to see the back story on the prisoners that would have been pardoned.
Not Trump's fault/responsibility! Trump as with all Republicans is just a force of nature, has no agency.....blah blah blah.

FOOTBALL PLAYER'S FAULT! FOOTBALL PLAYERS IN DISARRAY! VOTE REPUBLICAN! VOTE TRUMP!

Trumps a scumbag and shouldn't be leveraging pardons...that's a given.

Lots missing from this story...who were the prisoners who were supposed to be paroled? What were they in jail for? Are they still in jail.

Whatever you think about Trump....the players decided the bad publicity and hell they'd receive visiting the White House outweighed those prisoners being released.
why would you put this on football players who have no idea what the person was accused of or anything to do with their case. Why would the players want to put that on themselves, just because kim said they were innocent.

That's why knowing who the prisoners were and what they did is pretty relevant to the story.

The idea that one man can be responsible for bringing down our democracy is delusional.

Let's be honest, if any other republican were leading the GOP primary, there would be an argument that they were a threat to democracy.

Yeah, I don't like Trump, but to pretend he's somehow more powerful than democracy itself is just silly. Someone with that kind of power wouldn't lose, which he did, and will again.

You’re not wrong. He’s got a really big cult following him.

It would only be relevant to the extent that you want to establish some sort of moral equivalency between the actions of the players and those of Trump.

Good luck with that. As always, you do you, broceefus. A little surprised that you haven't figured out a way to “both sides” this one yet. But I won't despair; I have faith in you Bins!

It took the courage of Mike Pence to end it when it did, however.

On the “any other republican” comment - I call BS. There are numerous republicans that could avoid such accusations: Haley, Christie, Pence, Hutchison and probably Scott would all fit the bill and that is just from the list of presidential hopefuls.

And regarding the argument about Trump’s power - the issue isn't about him alone; the issue is that such a large proportion of the republican party and conservative bulwark appears ready and willing to sacrifice itself on the altar of MAGA / Trumpism. THAT is absolutely a threat to our democracy.

Here's the thing - and Ive been stewing on this for a while - many folks think our democracy and institutions have all these safeguards and protections. That's an illusion. All these guardrails are based on the assumption that those with power will exercise that power with ethical restraint, fairness and a sense of selflessness that is deferential to the welfare of our nation. Before Trump, I don't think I seriously questioned that notion. With Trump, I think all bets are off.

Trump has a supermodel wife he doesn't need some overused hag like Kim K to do anything for him sexual wise. I wouldn't touch that trash with a 10 ft pole.

Let's be real, she was basically a mail order bride who was looking to get her family into the United States. Also, how long do you think it's been since they've had sex, I'm thinking it was roughly 9 months before their son was born.

To be fair considering gerrymandering we should have questioned it a long time ago. I think before Trump no one ever thought they would go that far.

Not really. Who the prisoners were and what the circumstances of their parole requests were are relevant to the story.
correct but knowing that is not the job or responsibility of a bunch of football players that trump wanted to see. So.... you don't get to say that these football players should be responsible for reviewing and getting legal advice just to go see the president for a quid pro quo.

Nah Trump would divorce her like the previous 2 wives. They probably have a secret contract about how often they have sex.

Didn't say that.

I'm pretty sure you are just making a joke, but my take is that the “agreement” is that The Donald can have sex with whomever he likes (consent not necessarily required, of course) and that is just the price of poker for Melanie;-) to deal with. I don't think he regards her as anything more than a possession or accessory to make him look good in the public eye. Like a really expensive suit and watch or a sportscar. Trump’s narcissistic sociopathy and transactional nature make it virtually impossible for him to act in any other way.

IMHO.

That is probably also true but I'm guessing there is something in there about how often they have sex.

And no I don't think he see's her as anything more than a status symbol.

It seems like with every post you make you're trying to use an intellecutal argument, but you just don't know how to pull it off..

I bet you like to use big words wthout knowing what they mean, too.

You really think he's having sex with her? They're only together because financially it works for both of them. There's no way she's having sex with him at this point.

Don't see any reason why Trump wouldn't divorce her like he did the previous 2 wives and marry someone younger. Probably Hope Hicks or one of his lawyers.

You might see him divorce her if he's not elected President again. I don't see him getting married again at this point.

Yeah, if there's one thing that comes to mind about Trump's wife, it's class. Is Kim K doing porn now?

He won't lose against Joe Biden 2.0, Biden isn't capable of being a coherent Walmart door greeter.

I don’t see him able to get someone else knocked up at this point.

And you think trump is? Maybe trump can tell all the customers about how he figured out that "us" and "U.S." have the same letters.
