Tuskegee Airmen will no longer be taught to Air Force recruits

Won’t let me read it.

So, Tuskegee airmen history back on?
it was never taken away and always celebrated.
I will be taught in the context of bravery and heroism in its greatest form.
Not in a DEI race baiting setting.
Everyone knows and understands the racism they experienced and OVERCAME.

"You're letting your daughters down if you don't vote for men in women's bathrooms" is the kind of retarded take one should expect from someone who brags on the internet about having inappropriate conversations with children at his government school.
A groomer, how wonderful

A very out and open one. Legitimately posted one time of "having inappropriate conversations with his students that he knew would piss off their parents". I believe he was trying to explain that the school limited what he could say to kids but it was definitely one of those quiet parts being said out loud moments.

Back in the day, Spring of ‘44 my dad and his crew left their base in southern Italy headed for a mission in Yugoslavia. About 2 hours out, the plane developed engine trouble and was ordered to return to base. This was almost certain disaster for bombers….being without protection from other planes for the return trip home with a bad engine. Shortly after leaving his group, his crew spotted 3 German fighter planes (E-109’s) on the horizon. Dad ordered the navigator to get a precise location and had the radioman start “MayDay” calls as their plane would probably end up in the Adriatic off the coast of Italy. Meanwhile the 3 E109’s saw dad’s plane was in trouble and had headed towards them…..meanwhile the crew was scrambling around preparing for a “water landing” or a bail-out…..Then suddenly the crew noticed the 3 109’s turned away and headed back towards Berlin…..and then the reason for their sudden departure was noted….4 Red Tails fighters had responded to the “MayDay” calls and the Germans weren’t gonna mess around with any plane with a Red Tail on it…. Two of the Red Tails accompanied dad’s B-24 back to his base and all returned well.

So growing up, dad never talked much about his “war experiences” but he did tell us about the Red Tails, what they were and how they saved the day for him and his crew back in the Spring of ‘44.

Please explain why you don't think learning about the Tuskegee Airmen is important.

This was a common occurrence during the reign of the Red Tails and should be thoroughly acknowledged and recognized.
No one disputes it and everyone honors it….

WASHINGTON, Jan 26 (Reuters) - The U.S. Air Force said on Sunday it will resume instruction of trainees using a video about the first Black airmen in the U.S. military, known as the Tuskegee Airmen, which has passed review to ensure compliance with President Donald Trump's ban on diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.

What a guy the FOTUS is. Felon of the United States

And appropriated educated too. Educated with facts not fiction.
What facts, everyone knows the military wasn’t desegregated until 1948 and the Red Tails OVERCAME racism, didn’t wallow in it.
Celebrate it, and celebrate how far we’ve come.
Quit sowing resentment because your ashamed of who YOU are

Acknowledging facts and what happened is hardly being ashamed of who I am..it’s my responsibility as a citizen if the USA to live with the truth and what happened. The military finally has moved towards integration, slowly. There are a lot of us who think much too slowly but there is movement in the right direction.
You have a strange idea if history abs how to live with it. The truth never changes.

Your idea of "honoring" is very weird since you have been anything but respectful to what the Air Force has accomplished with integration and supporting minorities over the last 70 years. How is teaching the story of the Tuskegee Airmen in a so-called "regular" history course different than teaching the story in a so-called "DEI" course? What are they teaching currently that needs to be removed from the topic? You just said it in this post, they had to overcome systemic racism among leadership and colleagues yet still managed to be a top performing squadron that many bombing groups would demand be their escorts on missions. More importantly, what are you going to cut out of the so-called "regular" history course so there is time to fully tell the story of the Tuskegee Airmen?

Back in my collegiate days, we got a pretty solid dose of Tuskegee in a “military history class” that was taught by an AF Captain….and it was talked about a bit in an American History 1932-Present (1970) course I took too. And when I was in college no one had ever heard of “DEI”…

DEI is banned pal. It’s dead in the military.
Get used to it.

Beta move to cave to the woke mob like this. The only other possible explanation is that the second Trump Administration will be as haphazardly run as the first one. Zero thought ahead of time about actions and unintended consequences.

You really don’t understand military culture at all.

Even BRATs are taught these things.
What a stupid statement, of course BRAT’s and everyone else should be taught about the Airmen and celebrate them.
We have come a long way.
You idiots should spend more time lifting people up, instead of victimizing them and persecuting yourselves

Now that fuhrer trump's dod pick is behind it I'm also behind it
Oh, so you're a sheep.

From what you have posted in this thread, it certainly looks more like "we're trying to get minorities out of jobs and culture and we're going to use DEI as our cover" than anything else.

I guess the military will just have to lean back into Equal Opportunity to ensure fair treatment, promote inclusivity, and address discrimination.

You don’t know who I voted for champ, or if I voted at all based on the two available.
I will say, there wasn’t a chance in hell I was going to vote for the shaming, canceling, race baiting, resentment sowing, sanctuary city loving, no more cash bail leftists.
And i will absolutely lecture about women’s safety as I have two daughters
The biggest danger to your daughters is growing up in a house filled with your bigotry and hate.

Mankind has been on the planet for a long time,.. Honoring the best of our forbearers is a valuable exercise, but it certainly doesn't need to be an integral element of military training at this level,.. If they spent time on everyone deserving inclusion, there wouldn't be time to teach the actual course material, .. Besides, I think most people learn about the Tuskegee Airmen in high school...

Stop projecting and own up to your own racism. The only one crying about race here is you. Literally every post is a "why do we have to learn about black people? Why are they special?" (well, there was one randomly accusing someone of being a pedophile because you couldn't come up with an answer to his post, I suspect you were projecting on that one too.) And now you have the balls to post this. Tell me, do you actually wear the hood when you are posting or is that only for public gatherings? What a waste of oxygen. Is this the shit we have to deal with for 4 years? White supremacists coming on here trying to normalize white supremacist ideas?

Can’t help it if your comprehension skills are nill.
Every post in this thread by me celebrates the Tails…. You woke groomer.
You idiots are still doubling down on racism and Nazis after it cost you libs an election.
Keep it coming and lose more, including the black voters who are sick of you.

No, all of your posts are, at best, backhanded compliments belittling what they had to go through and what they accomplished. But I'm not surprised you don't understand that. And please, explain what a "woke groomer" is supposed to mean.

From the googles:

History is taught in ALL branches of the U.S. military, and it is often tied to promotion. Each branch incorporates lessons from its own history and broader military history into training programs to instill traditions, core values, and leadership principles. For example:
  • Army: Soldiers learn about key battles, leaders, and the evolution of Army doctrine through courses like the Basic Leader Course (BLC) and higher-level training for promotions.
  • Navy: Sailors study naval history, such as the contributions of key figures like Admiral Nimitz and significant battles like Midway, as part of leadership and professional development programs.
  • Marine Corps: The Corps emphasizes its storied history, including battles like Iwo Jima and figures like Chesty Puller, in every level of training to instill the Marine ethos.
  • Coast Guard: Training highlights maritime rescue missions and figures like Joshua James, tying history to their mission and promotion education.
  • Air Force: Airmen learn about key moments in aviation and Air Force history, such as the achievements of the Tuskegee Airmen, Operation Desert Storm, and leaders like General Hap Arnold, as part of Professional Military Education (PME) and promotion testing.
In many cases, understanding military history is part of promotion exams, professional military education (PME), or leadership courses. It strengthens the connection to service identity and reinforces decision-making and strategic thinking.

from what I understand the Marines, at least in Basic, emphasizes history the most.

As far as Army officers in a given year about 75-80% of commissioned officers come by way of ROTC. It is mandatory to take a military history class towards completion of Military Science. If the the school does not offer a military history course then there is a week set aside in the curriculum for the cadre to discuss military history. After becoming commissioned an Army officer then goes to Officer Basic Course where additional history is mandatory, mainly specifically about that officer's branch of the Army.

Some of my friends stayed in and are now higher rank {Majors & Col.} there are more extensive history requirements there.

I'm sure the other branches have similar requirements.

Celebrating their bravery and heroism is really backhanded, not in my world.
I celebrate Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella and Willie Mays the exact same way.
I marvel at their talent and struggles and applaud how far we’ve come as a nation

I suppose you have black friends too. You say this to try and hide the blatant racist overtones in the rest of your comments. I'm still waiting on your explanation of what a "woke groomer" is.
