How/why is this a party issue?
It appears, Phantom, that you agree with her being jailed. That is good, but how is this a party issue?
I was tweaking Joe who tried to make this a tea party, conservative, issue. She's a Dem, not a Republican. We've seen more Dems fail to uphold/enforce/execute the law (eg sanctuary cities, drug laws) than we have Republicans.
Don't know Ky law, but my initial reaction is yes, she should be jailed. I think the Supreme Court totally f'd up the ssm ruling, and Kennedy provided us with one of the silliest reasoned opinions in court history, however, it is the law. Either she resigns, lets her deputy issue the licenses, or goes to jail.
This woman is exhibiting "Iowa Values", Kentucky style. Kentucky...the official state motto is something like, "Daddy get off me! You're crushing my cigarettes."

Anti-abortion
"Small government"
States rights
Pro 2A advocate
less taxes for all
Obama is an illegal muslim
If that person was registered "Democrat" some one here would still make it a "Dem" issue.
Labels are fine, when they are at least semi-accurate.

OiT...this woman needs to do her job. If she can't do it for "religious" reasons, then she should resign her position. It's pretty simple. Her "boss" has decided she needs to get with the program and she is refusing to do so. As her boss, what would you do?
