Horrible take and absolutely insulting to Garza game and skill set. Wahl is bricklayer beyond 5’ from the basket.

True, Garza had great both midrange and 3 pt range, but also back down from the post. Wahl doesn’t have that range but is better off the dribble, which wasn’t Garza’s strength. However the point I was making is that Garza used his strength in the post, often to establish deep position to receive the ball.

The backdown stuff is actually pretty easy to guard. As soon as he dribbles, the quickest defender should flash in make him pick up his dribble, then flash back out. That forces him to pass or shoot where he stands. Unfortunately, Iowa is slow and lazy on defense.

Like what they’ve been doing to Owen the past few games? Bigs dribbling in the paint is a risk. Unless you’re Kofi and get away with blowing bodies away to get space and finish.

I hate when a player is on the floor with the ball and another player dives on top of them and then grabs the ball that the foul isn't called first. It was a point of emphasis a few years ago, but seems not to be called.
