UCF declares itself National Champions

You really don’t make any good points. There weren’t plenty of UCF fans there. There were about as many ICF fans there as you would see if the game were played in Auburn. You football dunces trying to justify Auburn’s loss to UCF can’t even make a valid argument against them playing in the CFP. You are continually grasping at straws.

Your entire “who did they play” argument is shattered because UCF’s SOS is similar to Alabama’s.

Your “where did they play” argument is so stupid, even Vegas only gives home field advantage 3 points. What does that tell you? Home field advantage isn’t worth anything.

You even bring up a game cancelled due to a hurricane as if somehow UCF had any control. Really? That’s what you’re going with too?

This isn’t the pre 80’s football that you remember and love. The power 5 conferences are not head and shoulders above the other conferences. It’s proven every year, and it makes people like you sound really foolish.

You were the genius saying auburn had a home game and still lost but yet you contradict and say home games don’t matter now? how many stadiums give opposing teams thousands of tickets UCF got and you act like same number of Iowa fans at their bowl UCF had same number. Plenty of them were there. As for GT game people in thread bragging that UCF scheduled more power 5 non conf which is a moot point when you forget game wasn’t even played.

Love people with your logic undefeated must give them the title. then Boise st should have some national titles cause they were undefeated too few seasons playing sub par competition. Maybe Iowa or Ohio st should join the MAC play easier competition then can make a case to make playoffs more often since conference teams don’t matter. As for competition if AAC is so great how come 2 best teams besides UCF had one lose to a 7-5 big 12 team at home for their bowl and USF needed last minute td to beat 6-6 Texas tech in their bowl. Yeah really impressive AAC.

Talk about making no good points yeah your reasons for UCF to be champs are awesome. You beat a 10-3 Auburn in a bowl and don’t lose any weak non conf and games in a subpar conf. End of the day UCF and their AD are laughing stock of America claiming they are “national champs”.

You’re the one that continues to say they do matter smart guy. There is no contradiction.

You’re trying to justify your position by making excuses.

No one is saying they should be given the NC genius.

UCF beat Auburn. The very same team that beat the two teams playing for the NC. End of story.

The only ones who are the laughing stock are the triggered crybabies like yourself. The moment UCF made the announcement you sensitive DBs started sobbing.

I guarantee none of you cry babies watch any football outside of your favorite team.

FYI... Just like I told your buddy... When you are trying to justify your position by making excuses, you have lost the argument.

They should be. They beat the team that beat alabama. Just because the BCS is more about money than allowing playoff competition which exists at every level, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t declare themselves champs.

Since when did Alabama have a “similar” SOS to UCF? I guess our definition of the word similar varies more these two school’s SOS.

After the bowls:
Teamranking.com = Alabama (35) - UCF (81)
Sagarin = Alabama (47) - UCF (72)

After regular season:
Teamranking.com = (47) - UCG (92)

At no point were these two teams SOS at all “similar”.

Vegas gives 3 points for home field advantage. Vegas is always correct. IIRC, Vegas had UCF +12 1/2 against Auburn. Were they correct there?

You call others crybabies, yet you’re the one here crying because your team didn’t get in. Your anger towards Alabama is misplaced. You want to be mad at anyone for taking UCF’s spot, be mad at Oklahoma or Clemson. Clemson didn’t even give Alabama a game.

I keep hearing that the SEC is overrated and overhyped. Generally I’d agree with this out of my dislike of the SEC, but it’s hard to when Georgia beats the BigXII’s best team (who did beat the B1G best team. *Note the transitive property) and Alabama beat the ACC’s best team.

Well someone beat me to the punch and showed how SOS aren’t even close as you claim. As for the claim to national title I guess that is the point of a thread on a message board to state ones OPINION and reasons why which many including myself feel why it’s petty and makes UCF look dumb which is the whole freaking point of this thread. Even better love the hypocritical post claiming other posters are “whining” or “crying”for stating their opinion but since you disagree and do it for opposite perspective it’s not the same and different, ok then....plus when people give examples to back up their opinions they are reasons for ones arguement not an excuse. Basic concept most people can grasp buddy....

But I’m sure you know all about college football since you watch the games but funny thing is lot of national media and playoff committee disagree with what you are saying for one not including them and second lot of the analyst saying how stupid it is to make this claim and I’m sure they watch more football than you. But Maybe a football expert like yourself should join the committee next year since you are so awesome and watch all the games and just assume others don’t and then you lobby for the next UCF to make it.

The same ISU team who beat #2 Oklahoma and #13 TCU. State had a good team this year, it's okay to admit. We still beat them

And who's to say that Indiana/North Texas wouldn't be a game? We struggled with them for a while, and IU's defense is suspect. A lot of G5 teams who make bowls are better than a lot of P5 teams who didn't. That's not the point
You are really stretching. Hard to argue with a bloke like you.

Then... don't? I'm an anonymous person here discussing college football. I assume that a lot of people don't share my stance and it really doesn't hurt my feelings.

Also, are you British or is bloke just part of your vocabulary?

Both sides are making valid points. But no amount of data points will convince me that UCF is a better football team than Alabama in the 2017 season....and I hate Alabama.

It's just not the committee that thought UCF didn't belong in the final 4. Most polls didn't even have UCF in the top 10 of the final polls. So, most people agreed that UCF didn't belong in the playoffs.

If UCF wants to be included, they just need to keep on winning (much like this year with an occasional 1 or 2 losses) and establish themselves as a power. If and when that happens, they will be selected to the playoffs with an undefeated record.

Lots of teams over the years could make a trophy or T-Shirt, but there will only be one National Champion...UCF will not be it!

Exactly Boise st could have made that claim a few times. Or even TCU before they joined the big 12.

Bama claims 16 titles but only 11 are actually recognized by the NCAA. As long as Bama is claiming 5 titles I see no problem with UCF claiming one.

What really baffles me is how the biggest sport in the NCAA technically has no championship actually awarded by the NCAA
