Urban Meyer knew of domestic abuse in 2015

The times they are a changing.

To me this is a coin flip, but with the condition of America today, I’d make a small even money wager that UM is gone.

But lots of reasons to believe he survives.
The ONLY reason they would fire him would be if O$u lost significant TV dollars. They won’t see a drop in attendance, donations, merchandise sales, or anything else regarding the fan base.
If the national outcry becomes loud enough that sponsors and tv networks get involved, he’s outta there.
It being so close to the start of the season, I can see O$u telling him to take a leave of absence. They play Oregon State in Columbus week one and Rutgers week two. This will give them time to feel the waters. Week three they are in Fort Worth against TCU. My bet is he will be on the sideline for the Frogs.

I just think the political climate will cause his termination. The press loves to see big boys fall.

97.1 in Columbus is saying back in 2009, UM sent is “goon squad” to Smiths wife and persuaded her not to press charges because her husband wouldn’t coach again if she did.

You're an idiot (no offense).

Last week, the university received the results of the independent review from St. Louis-based law firm Stolar Partners. The report criticized Mills, the school's general counsel, and Jones, the school's vice president for student services, for their actions after the alleged assault.

The report said the university's response was flawed and inadequate, but that there was no attempt to cover up the alleged assault. It cited Jones for denying he knew anything about the case when questioned by the alleged victim's mother, when documents showed he did.

It always amazes me how the local press stokes the flames of controversy in cases like these. I suppose it’s a good thing. But, still, the people working at 97.1 are more than likely Bucks fans. You’d think they’d follow the story but not push to advance it.

You put football over human decency. Ferentz should not be coaching. WHat if it were your daughter. Think of the victim(s). You don't give a shat. IOWA FOOTBALL!

97.1 Columbus is awesome right now.

Ohio State Corp Values

Do what I say boys, you know it's right.
But don't pay attention to what I do, OK?
Signed,
Urban "what would Jesus & Tim Tebow do" Meyer

Don't lump all Buckeye fans together, I do care what happens and if Urban was in the wrong and it's against something that was in his contract, then so be it, he will be fired.
But, I will wait until all the facts are on the table and then if the University deems it necessary to cut ties with him, then so be it. One person is not bigger than the program...as you guys say...next coach in....We will be just fine, will it suck? Yes
I know in this day and age everyone wants to put the cart before the horse. Urban should be presumed innocent until proven guilty, let the chips fall where they may

LOL, tough day in Columbus huh? Wish I could say the next week is going to be better for you.
LOL! I guess. Not in Columbus and not a Buckeye. I just think it's funny that anytime something happens at a school, everyone loves to pile on and condemn the school, alums, fans, teams, etc. But, let the same types of thing happen at their school, and well, the excuses come flowing out like cheap wine.

So you don't care about domestic violence being covered up? Cool. Why do you like domestic violence?

If this thing does go down with Urban getting the axe, would the big/NCAA allow players to transfer without penalty like they did with PSU? What does it mean for Ash? Would the other coaches go too since they were also likely aware and also did nothing?

Meanwhile OSU is silent and trying to figure out a way to slap Urban in the media, but keep business as usual. I still expect a stall tactic and maybe a one game suspension once the smoke clears. They are circling the wagons and no comments are coming from former OSU players. No response equals not caring about it IMO.

This is gonna blow up big. I haven't gone there yet, but from what I understand there's a lengthy and detailed Facebook post by McMurphy about it.
I'll believe it when I see it happen. I'm still waiting for the other shoe to fall on Dantonio and Isso with all the allegations at MSU about sexual assault by players under their watch that went unreported, but nothing has happened yet........

You're a card carrying cult member of Curt Ferentz.

Good grief man, stop the troll. The only 2 people in UI administration who did what they were supposed to in Satterfield/Everson case were Ferentz and Barta. The trial and the independent investigation confirmed as much. Before charges were ever filed in that case, the two players were "indefinitely suspended," which immediately became "dismissed from the team" when felony charges were filed. Neither one played a down for Iowa again.

Read the full investigation. The coach did what was in his power to do, which is dismiss the players from the team. He doesn't have the power to kick them out of school or put them in jail.

Sadly are we honestly really all that shocked after how things went down with his Florida teams. As for the domestic abuse. I think 5 years ago pre Ray Rice he survives this but since that incident the whole narrative with domestic abuse and not properly handling and punishing people has drastically changed for the better.

https://www.nytimes.com/2013/07/07/...y-arrested-at-florida-in-the-meyer-years.html

From article says 08' Tebow team had 121 people listed on roster. 41 have been arrested in college or after. 16 players on the 2 deeps & 9 starters. Then how can we not forget Mr Aaron Hernandez and this incident under Meyer's watch where he wasn't kicked off or suspended such as- Reports that Hernandez ruptured a man's ear drum (a bouncer) during the fight in 2007 and did not cooperate with the police.

He's an Iowa State troll, that's their schtick. Just ignore him he's obviously low on brain cells.

And there's little doubt Meyer knew. He should be fired but OSU will likely stand by there being no "proof" he was directly informed and give him a slap on the wrist.

Yes I believe a PAULA arrest is different than a domestic violence arrest. Proper punishment should be administered in EACH case.

Hilarious! Too bad this is a complete red herring and those weren't all PAULAS. It takes a complete buffoon to not see the idiocy of this thread, so let me expound on my point for you....

What's your stance on giving rapists a redshirt year, and then keeping the coach who pushed for this hilarious"punishment" around for years until he leaves the university voluntarily?

What more do you think Ferentz should have done? The players were booted from the team,
and he reported what he knew to his superiors. Anything more would be beyond his responsibility and would have jeopardized the victim’s anonymity.

Izzo and Dantonio should be gone.

Do you really think UM will be gone?

This.

If those two weren’t fired after the Nasser info came out and it’s 1,000 times worse, no way UM gets fired. He might resign but highly doubt he is fired for all the “good” he has done at tOSU. (Sarcasm meter blowing up).

Also, if this was a player that did this the first time, not a coach, UM would of boot’d him no questions asked. Amazing how he allowed the coach to stick around, kinda like the Nebraska coach getting three DUI’s and still on staff. I call them, look the other way schools that place winning ahead of all else.

What a total piece of chit human being Urban is. Reading a number of things about this--and i get that "it's on the internet so it must be true" applies to everything, but holy crap, this guy is just an all-around pile of excrement. Hope he's gone before sundown and take Gene with him.
