US Open Brackets?

Richard Perry Garden City, NY (NYAC) PP Bo Nickal PA (Nittany Lion Wrestling Club), 11-8

Kyle Dake Ithaca, NY (TMWC) PO Alex Dieringer Stillwater, OK (TMWC), 3-0

If it's possible to look good in a tech fall loss, I would say Burak did. He got in on the high crotch single three times and got countered for 11 points.

PSU still can't develop freestyle guys it appears. Nickal, Nolf, Retherford, and Megaludis all coming up short. Good thing Molinaro moved on otherwise they might have ruined him too.

I follow D1 wrestling really closely, so are some of these guys whose names I've never seen before maybe wrestled D2? Guys like Kulchytskyy, Staudenmayer, Richard Perry, Kleinschmidt.

Staudenmayer wrestled for UNC, I've followed Richard Perry for a few years now in freestyle but don't know where he wrestled in college. This is the first I've seen of the other 2

Nazar Kulchytskyy wrestled at US Oshkosh and was very successful in Division 3. He ended up being a 3 time D3 champ. He came here from the Ukraine and has since become a US citizen with the goal of making an Olympic team.
Great story really...
Works out in Madison with Barry Davis and his club.

Perry wrestled for Bloomsburg I think. At least that's what my google search told me

Oliver won with a caution +2 for being facemushed and a correct throw. Why are these not 1 point "moves"/violations?

I had the same reaction. Zain with three pushouts, Jordan with a facemush penalty and a throw that I don't think exposed Zain's back. Zain still has a ways to go in freestyle and I found myself wishing that Metcalf were still wrestling.

McRib over Dean...some controversy. Refs do a conference and a video review...took them five mins. Gave Dean a push out point. McRib's corner challenges and they give the point back.

Because it is super creepy for grown men to tweet at high school boys they don't know. It's all kinds of weird. And SMH if any of you are "recruiting" them to Iowa.

Spooner: These are fans tweeting at athletes.

Remember back in the day when you might pass a high school aged kid in the hall after a win and congratulate him? Maybe even pat him on the back? Well, tweeting is kinda how that's done now, grandpa.:D

Don't cheer for kids or give them encouragement...especially if they were one of the few kids to have success from the city you lived in and are wrestling in a high level event.
