Vouchers Were Supposed to Save Taxpayer Money. Instead They Blew a Massive Hole in Arizona’s Budget

Easy answer - They are not equipped to handle them. Secondly the private schools as we know them are there to give students a better education. Face the facts you can't educate a turnip. Many of these special ed students are in the classroom so the parents can have a break. What are going to teach a child who just screams and drools all class yes, it's sad but it is very accurate.
Special needs students comprise a much wider range than what you think if you believe private schools couldn’t accommodate all or even most if they needed to.

Also, no, private schools are there to cater to more select groups of students than public schools; which is fine.

Special needs aside, private schools can choose not to admit any student they don’t want to. If they’re going to accept vouchers, they shouldn’t have that option…they should have to accept every student that they have the capacity to handle.

Nope

If they’re going to accept voucher students, they should have to accept any student in their “attendance zone”….which would by the entire district. They can do what public schools do when attendance exceeds capacity - pay for pods and trailers to house those students.

When Iowa’s income limits go away for the school welfare check, I personally know of multiple 7, yes 7, figure households that will be getting $21000 welfare checks from the taxpayers…….ya think there will be some budget issues ahead?
I have a friend with a kid at Regina. She makes $200,000+ at UI. She told me she's obviously going to take the free money, but she's curious as to what the tuition will be? She went to Regina herself as a kid in IC because her folks, her grandparents, and the parish paid for her tuition.

This will be where the vast majority of the monies go - to families that were already sending their kids to private school. It will also supplement those parents who don't give a shit about their kid and will get the money for "home schooling". It's a sham all the way around but it will get support because those same well to do families will contribute to and support the right wingers that put this in place despite the overall unpopularity.

It's shameful.
