Sometimes people fall in love something that might only work regionally. I’d probably have smashed some of those after a hard night of drinking though.

Assuming you name it something super ****ing dumb and charge people 32 bucks while calling it artesian, you will crush.I’m going to open a specialty burger place in Des Moines.
Will serve this:
And make millions serving it to Des Moines rubes.
This is true, it is operated by an authentic Mexican American family. Some of the most successful carneys in Iowa history.I’ve never considered them authentic Mexican but the family that started and owns the restaurant is Mexican.
The sauce is not Ortega consistency at all, it is much thicker.
I highly recommend a side of Tasty Taters and a super nacho.Just got to Ankeny. Never had a Tasty Taco so I'll be heading there in 10 min to see what's up.
That is a pic of actual food and not food fluffed for a commercial shoot. This looks totally different.*Not gonna lie, those tacos in the first post do not look great....at all.
Well that explains it. They’ve been subjecting trashy white folk to bad fried food for a living for generations. It’s all starting to make sense now. Some of the most successful carneys in Iowa history.
Well they arent tacos so . . .Not gonna lie, those tacos in the first post do not look great....at all.
Looks very similiar....and not great. That is a pic of actual food and not food fluffed for a commercial shoot. This looks totally different."
*or not. They actually look quite similar.
that's my home town!Only when they have it coming.
Ever hear me s—-t talk Dubuque? 😉
It’s like someone who had just learned about both gyros and tacos tried to make a combo of both and failed miserably.Looks very similiar....and not great.
Torbee isn't gonna bang you dude. I don't think anyways. On the other hand, might as well keep going and see what it leads to.Looks very similiar....and not great.
Your face is garbageQC pizza is straight garbage.
I think I will order some of the seasoning packs. How hot is their hot sauce?I will admit though, that I enjoy using the Tasty Tacos seasoning packets when I make smoked queso. It's better than other seasonings I've tried.
I can't speak for the seasoning packs - I would skip it. The sauce is pretty good, for what you can get in a store.I think I will order some of the seasoning packs. How hot is their hot sauce?

It's better. This is like when your mom tried to convince you unseasoned ground beef on Wonderbread with a squirt of Hunt’s Catsup was “just as good” as McDonald’s.
So it is bottled sauce. That picture doesn't do it justice. The meat/bean mix inside is very good, and the sauce is actually great and sold at Hy-Vee and other grocery stores. You must try it if in the DSM area sometime.
Didn't used to be. I'm suspicious of the bottled stuff but I tried it and it was fine. The sauce you used to get with carry out orders would go bad after two days in the fridge. So it is bottled sauce.

I never want to hear another Mofo from Des Moines badmouth QC pizza again. Those abominations are an affront to all Mexican food. I’d rather eat Taco Bell.
NoThe pictures aren't flattering. That said my guess is that they are better relative to other Tex Mex tacos than QC pizza is relative to other pizza.
I’d rather eat a bison pie than a Tasty TacoHey phuckstick, the West Des Moines resident refuses to eat Tasty tacos. They are terrible. Saying that, at least we don’t get a hard on for the bison bridge like sum1 we all know around here! Hi Torbee!
I’d rather eat a bison pie than a Tasty Taco
I would still eat it anyway, authentic or not.Didn't used to be. I'm suspicious of the bottled stuff but I tried it and it was fine. The sauce you used to get with carry out orders would go bad after two days in the fridge.
7.6 on the fast foot taco rating scale. The shell was good, but a little too puffy. Meat was perfectly seasoned and had good flavor, they also give a good portion of it. The sauce was good at first and had good flavor, but mouth is on fire now so that took it down a notch.
Overall experience was good and would definitely recommend.

Never had the hot sauce. I'm also a hot sauce snob so I'm guessing I probably wouldn't be a huge fanI think I will order some of the seasoning packs. How hot is their hot sauce?

You have to cut filthy river town inhabitants some slack. They are basically inbred.Gotta say after reading this thread that torbee‘s food critic skills seem on par with IFBbbtrackgolfetc.
