Iowa has a chance….. Low but still a chance
When there’s 22 pages in one post, it’s not really laid out for “good” readingI think it's better than a low chance. You should check the women's recruiting thread.
If only we had a separate WBB forum 😉Man people really get butt hurt when it comes to multiple threads on the same topic. What’s up with that?
Thanks for the info OP.
Nobody's "butt hurt" if that's a reference to me. I just thought he/she would have the information he/she was looking for as it was already addressed prior.Man people really get butt hurt when it comes to multiple threads on the same topic. What’s up with that?

Not directed at anyone. Just an observation.Nobody's "butt hurt" if that's a reference to me. I just thought he/she would have the information he/she was looking for as it was already addressed prior.
Context matters.
They need to figure it out, this is a major puzzle piece to a NC.There are no scholarships available.
I strongly suspect there will be.There are no scholarships available.
Really want Annesah Morrow from DePaul. 2x All Big East and an All-American. At 6’1, she is a force and a huge rebounder averaging almost 13 rebounds per game and 25 ppg.. She is a must get IMO. I think she fills a much bigger role and Betts.I think it's better than a low chance. You should check the women's recruiting thread.
Landing both would definitely shore up any perceived deficiencies. Why not Betts and Morrow?
Fills the two real need’s for this season and is viable if the speculation that we’ll have a couple of transfers (not to mention possible Jones scholarship) available.
That’s a preseason #1 team there. We need to go for it this season. We have a unique opportunity with a small window. The door is open, step through Lisa!
I don’t nothing to do with Van Lilith - she strikes me as a diva and wouldn’t be good for team chemistry.
At this point, it does seem inevitable.I strongly suspect there will be.
It's funny, I was saying we needed a Cardozo and a week later, it seems we might be getting one handed to us on a silver platter. Not only a Cardozo, she can shoot a little bit tooBetts is the ideal transfer, even more than Morrow. She'll offer rim protection and rebounding at a HIGH level. Iowa hasn't had that at all in the offensively dominant Gustafson/Czinano era. Her post moves and touch will not be as polished around the rim as those two right now but she'll have a height and athleticism advantage, and she's only a sophomore.
Caitlin has precise bullet passes, but even she contributed to a lot of turnovers in tight windows feeding Monika. She'll have a lot more leeway with someone like Betts... like a foot plus reach advantage minimum over everyone.
Clark/Davis
Marshall/McCabe
Martin/Affolter/Feuerbach
Stuelke/Gyamfi/Wetering
Betts/O'Grady/Goodman/Ediger
Likely redshirts: Johnson-Etiene and Jones
Just a nasty lineup. Would have Betts for 3 years too. Obviously 16 needs to turn into 15.
I think there is a way, if she will not be able to play, that she can keep her scholarship without it being counted against the team total. But......if that option is used it can never be revoked and the player can never play collegiate sports again. Jones may think she will play again some day and refuse to use that option. Will Jones ever play basketball?
I assumed she would keep a full ride, but it will not count against the team count due to her injuries.
I do not expect she'll ever be able to play.
She can never play for the team that put her on medical hardship scholarship. She could transfer and play if the new school medically cleared her. Ezra Miller would be a recent example.I think there is a way, if she will not be able to play, that she can keep her scholarship without it being counted against the team total. At least that's what I heard on a sports talk show the other day.
She tweeted about completing her last operation and is one step closer to getting back on the court. It sounds to me like she has every intention of playing in the future. That mindset is likely a huge part of the mindset needed to recover as well. As long as she has a path back and is actively working it, iowa should maintain the scolly as playable.
And everyone knows it. We're all rooting for her obviously. What she has had to endure is tragic. So much was literally taken from her. I hope she can make a go it. Time will tell.If everything went as well as could be expected I'd guess it would be two full years to even attempt to play at the level needed for D1 basketball. I hope for the best for her but getting to that level doesn't seem likely.
Yeah well then let's fire some people, and bring in some other people who would be willing to make an exception so we can win the national championship next year and rub it in LSU's faces............There are no scholarships available.
I say we bring them all in and build a super team to combat the LSUs, UConns and South Carolinas in the arms race. All is fair game now.Why not Betts and Morrow?

We do, it's called the football boardIf only we had a separate WBB forum 😉
There are ways Iowa can make this happen …There are no scholarships available.
